Thanks to Helen105281 doing extensive research on dried food, I have switched my gang from burgess excellent to bunny. I was unhappy after finding out burgess contains molasses which is unhealthy for guinea pigs. Bunny is slightly more expensive but it is worth it as the ingredients are healthier. I am so grateful to Helen for recommending it.

It took two days for the piggies to accept it and they love it. They seem to have more energy and the bigger size is great for challenging their teeth. I have also noticed they drink less water between mouthfuls which tells me it is not drying out their mouths.downloadfile-112.webp downloadfile-66.webp

Here is a picture of the food and one of Amelia Jane enjoying it.

Thanks Gigi, am so pleased your gang like it and you are seeing results already. I have noticed much more energy with mine, Katie even gets out of her cozy. I have to thank my friend Karen though who discovered it in the first place.

Just tried to find it online but can't. Do you have a website ?

The pellets are quite big so I sometimes break them in half but mine seem to prefer the whole ones.

@piggyfan. I am probably being stupid but you thank @helen105281 for her extensive research in to dried food. I even think I have seen in on the forum in the past. But can I heckers find it now. Can you please advise where I should look under. Thanks

Strangely I cannot find it! I was meaning when Helen mentioned it in various threads really.

I haven't finished it yet, however that will just be a compilation of all the available pellets. However I have mentioned the Bunny on a variety of threads and have been working on a spreadsheet for a while comparing ingredients etc. My friend Karen has done more research than me though.

I knew I had read something somewhere so I am not losing it yet. I will give Bunny a try as it appears to be a healthier option to the Excel pellets I am using. I have a yet unopened Supreme Science Selective waiting tasting tests by my guinea pigs.

The thing with Bunny is that is is really natural ingredients and is grainless too which I have found really helps, especially Phoebe skinny who has inflammation issues. They all have so much more energy too.

Wish we had that here or that Zooplus would ship to OZ. I could not find any commercially packaged piggy dry food here without molasses, even the imported very expensive Oxbow. In the end I made up my own mix starting first with a piggy feed produced by a local milling company, so at least its fresh & free from additives. To the feed I add stuff from a nearby produce shop to increase fibre & protein. As this means there's also no added vitamins I syringe the boys regularly with a liquid supplement for the vitamins that do not naturally occur in the dry food, such as C & D3.
