Thank you for the warm welcome.... we did get a new house for raidar and hawkeye its quite a bit bigger then the one we got at the store but it has plexaglass sides and like 4 little levels...I'm still woundering if it is big enough....it has a bulit in hidy and looks like a peace of furnture...a heave grate like top.... it was the biggest one i could find that i could afford , they seem MUCH happer in it but if they start feeling a bit crowded i an always take there orignal cage and add it to the one there in giving them a bit more added space and a second hidy.... all i would have todo is cut the plexaglass big enough for the opening of the first cage and butt it up against the plexglass side wall secureing it firmly....they have to have a totaly inclosed house as i also have a cat (white and tan) named IVY and 3 dogs.. an aussiedoodle named Angle not quite a year old yet...a shitzoo named Kaity shes 2 and a little teacut yorky named zena also not quite a year old... my husband told me after getting raidar and hawkeye NO MORE PETS! LOL which is ok i now have enough animal children to keep me busy......I'm going to wait a few weeks i think before i approuch him about adding there old cage to the new one at 78 he can get just a tad wee bit cranky if he thinks I'm no sasified wih the way things are so as long as there happy with what they have I'm not going to rush it...but there is more then enough room to add the orginal cage to what we have now.... we are both are on ss so somethings need to wait... but i have been looking up some homemade toys to make now a double check its ok to make them toys out of tolitpaper and papetowl rolls .... after having discovered at lot of the info i had gotten on line wasn t nesserly correct... so its nice to have a place to go to make sure i have the correct info... I'm so glad i was able to get the 2 guinnie pigs that where together at the pet the store they still cuddle up with each other every now and then... I'm picking them up and holding them in my lap ( one at a time every other day... i feel it gives them one entire day to sort of relax and not have to worry about my hands trying to pick them up everyday although iv noiticed in the habata they dont try to run away from my hand as much ... it is after all connected to the most important thing to them FOOD lol lots of hay and guinepig food iv seen there are some frish fruts and viggies they can have small bits of... although iv not given them any of that yet I'm sort of trying to go slow with them so as not to stress them to much.. i'll check on here for a list of safe foods that can be added as a treat every now and then i did buy a box of guinnie pig treats when i got them and they only get a peace when there sitting on my lap iv found treats are a great incentive for all the animals...lol once where more comfortable with each other i'll look and see what else i can do to keep them happy and to bond with... I'm feeling pretty good now as i can now have one of the guinniepigs on my lap in my chair while all 3 dogs are on there spot in the chair and the most they do is sniff the air in the guinnie pigs direaction IF they try to get close to them all i have to do is hold up my finger and say no to close and they back away again... today i didnt even have to do that as the dogs are getting lolused to the new animal child on my lap so they take up there spots on the chair and footstool and watch for a second or two then just settle down and go to sleep! lol so everything seems to be running smoothly .... i wll try to get some pictures of my little ones but so far they have been a bit carmar shy.... so what i have gotten is a bit blurey lol but all things come with time ... oh and they have also started making noise lol i was surprised how much like regular pigs they sound when they squeel lol at one time i lived near a pig farm most of the time it was fine but when they slatered one it sounded like a child or baby screaming! scared the living daylights out of me until they explined what it was..... then i just felt sort of sad....but growing up in the back woods of country living i learned at an early age this is the natrual order of things ... well this is long but i did want to let everyone know things are going pretty good so far

I’m glad they are settling in

In terms of their cage, two boys need a cage which measures 180x60cm on a single level. A four level cage is not how guinea pigs live and isn’t really appropriate for them.
Any upper levels do not count towards the cage size so it is the bottom size which has to meet those size requirements (180x60cm) to mean the cage is big enough for them

Cage Size Guide

ahh i shall have to measure the bottom size but it takes up the whole corner of the wall

If you can provide the actual measurements of the bottom level and a picture of the cage then we can advise whether it is suitable.
