Could have been a charity-shop fleece hat that your piggies love or an uber-pricey chic pad for your guineas to live in like little kings and queens...

What's the thing your piggies simply couldn't live without?

x

ps. I'm taking notes... in the time between now and when I'm off to visit the piggie rescue at the end of the month I can see *ahem* one or two piggie related purchases happening!

My piggies love their cosy pyramid that I got. They look so cute snuggled up together in it.

It's on the way, but I think the best purchase I've made (other than the piggies themselves) is the Zorb I ordered. My piggies are in the living room, and I want for both me and them, that their home be nice, dry, clean, and not smell. I think the Zorb is going to help make that happen, so that their home is a home sweet home.

incontinence pads to go under the fleece to make them less smelly, the c&c cage built by my other half, the fleece bedsheets and pads i made for my piggies cage, their grass houses, i am afraid the list goes on and on but my piggies have their own wardrobe!

I would agree with Lucille about the zorb - I have got some zorb that I am using for my bedspreads.

The Hayloft has two bedspreads, both with zorb, and the top large level has zorb x 2 as well.

I ordered it when I still had a 2 x 4 cage so I now do not have enough for the whole cage, but I do have inco pads. i have some more on the way but the last lot took nearly 3 months to get here! And I ordered the second lot in January.

So far I have done water tests on the zorb and it absorbs very fast - faster than the inco pads I have in, which are pretty good.

For the size of cage, even with shipping I think it is cheaper than the inco pads, and is a dream to sew.

But I will also add another BIG one - my best buy for the piggies.

The best money I ever spent was on the PC and internet, because without that I would not have considered piggies as a pet as I didn't want to keep them outside, or in a small cage inside, and didn't really see anything in petshops I would be happy with.

Also I have found a lot of guinea pig books that are widely available to be full of inaccurate information.

This site, Guinea Lynx, and GuineaPigCages have been fantaastic resources for me, and without them we wouldn't have a huge C+C cage and corrall for floortime, and we wouldn't be picking up our lovely furry girls next Saturday!:(|):(|):(|):(|)

Poundworlds puppy training pads have been very useful.

Montys indoor cage - will always remember battling in the snow and ice on the bus to buy him a cage when it got too cold to keep him outside.
I hate walking on snow/ice but was pleased with myself for managing to get that cage back on the bus without breaking it - Montys face when he went in it after 2 days of living in a cat carrier box was great!

A little wooden nest box I got for him and of course the cuddle cozy cups as he just loves those.

Just need the money now for a new bigger hutch for Leo or a shedrolleyes

Smorez couldn't live without his small animal basket. It's like a regular basket, except you place it upside down, and it has an opening where they can go in.
CC couldn't live without his hand-me-down Chewbe from Smorez. Smorez is perfectly healthy, so CC won't get sick.

So, first thing on the list if a trip to the bank to arrange a second mortgage then off to order 2 of everything!:))

Cuddly/cosy things are definitely on the list as they seem to be a big hit with the pigs in the pics I've seen and I'll also have a look at this Zorb (sounds like a cartoon baddie!:p ) as I'm just about competent enough on the sewing machine to stitch a few straight lines...plus hidey things, lots of those!

The problem I'm having is paring the things I want down otherwise there'll be no room left in the cage for any piggies!

Still as excited as a kid in a sweetshop!

The sewing machine, because with it I can make all sorts of cute tunnels, cozies and stuff.

The first thing I bought them was pretty special too: two piggy crash pads. It was when I had decided to get piggies and had researched enough to know I should get two. It made it all so real somehow :)

Sorry to hijack this thread! For anyone who does not yet know, I make and sell fleece cozies, tunnels and other items in aid of small animal rescues.

My website is www.cavycozies.webs.com

I will shortly upgrade to a website where I can display up to 30 products and will therefore be increasing the range of things I offer.

I am also thinking of putting in a bulk order for zorb and incontinence pads that are 95cm by 95cm. I would cover the inco pads with fleece and sell them for £22-£25 including postage if that is of interest to anyone.

I may be able to sell on zorb by the metre if anyone is interested and I will also be making it into guinea pig bedspreads covered with fleece and selling those.

Pollie.
