The big cage and group shuffle

I love this, especially all their furniture, raised platforms etc (must try and build some things like you have myself), such a fab space for them to scuttle about! The line up shot is great too.

Just wondered how you find the cage without using correx? Do you usually do this (with lino underneath) or is it just because it's so big? I guess it would only work with fleece bedding. I have been thinking of doing this as it gives you more scope to increase size and alter things around without the cost of getting more correx delivered all the time, also you must get a great view of what they're up to :)

Looking fabulous x)

Bryn is such a lucky boy, such a great home you gave him. Infact they are all lucky piggies to think every single one if them came from rescue, they really fell on their feet.

My dining table got move out nearly 2 years ago to accomadate the pigs, although I promised my OH it was only a temporary move I think I've got away with it.
:)

Thanks! Ceri was in season this morning, but it was a very civilised affair! They are working out as a group. It helps that the girls know each other well and don't have to sort out the hierarchy (Ffowlyn is the highest ranked of them, so now problems there). Bryn is clearly having the time of his life - good on him!

The remaining Trio is settling down well. Taffy is Tegyd's special friend, who she is very fond of. Terfel is simply glad that there is peace again!

Your hub is a wise man... :))

At that size, lino is a lot cheaper and easier to clean than correx. Some people in other countries use panels of plexiglas for the sides. With the hay mainly in big trays, there is a actually lot less mess.

I find that these wooden frames which support a correx tray for my mezzanines work very well for me; I have been using them for several years now. The correx lifts up easily for the poo patrol; it is also a convenient way of creating more space. As the ramps are shallow, even my cataract piggies are having no problems using them. Hub later on cut two little openings into that frame, so we have two little "bedrooms" under the ramp, which are firm favourites!

Thanks, that last picture is really helpful, the frames look great, not so high as a whole new level with grids but still provides more space and a place to get away and munch (I have a couple of pigs in my herd that like to do this) - just what I'm after :)

I'm dithering whether to go for lino or correx. I'm looking at 4ft x 4ft or 4ft x 5ft, depending on how I can arrange the furniture, so the correx doesn't come big enough & I would have to stick sides on. On the other hand, if I went for lino I would have to put some protection on the sides for the carpet. My landlord agreed to me having guinea pigs, but I suspect he was thinking of a hutch in the garden rather than them taking over the living room!
