I got new pigs and I've been so over the moon with them I forgot to introduce them!

So after Tico passed away, Cookie needed some friends. When the local rescue posted three gorgeous girls (ok so I was looking for a pair but three is close enough to two, right?) named Oreo, Biscoff and Pumpkin then very next day it just felt like fate.

Cookie went to the rescue to meet them and was apparently a perfect gentlepig. After just a few hours in a bonding pen with them, Sarah was confident they could go home together.

I have renamed the girlies but I'm still thinking of them as the biscuit barrel. I present to you (clockwise from top) Stella, Eskarina and Tiffany!

They're absolutely gorgeous young ladies. Tiff is Stella's surprise daughter and is just 4 months old. She's the most adorable whirlwind! Stella is super confident while Esk is happy to be quiet in a corner as long as she has a nest and some food. So far she's the only one to eat on my lap - embracing the mindset of 'it might be scary, but at least I'll die with a full stomach'. All of them will take pea flakes from my hand now (with appropriate announcing, in some cases) and they are piling on the grams.

I should also introduce the handsome Mr Cookie at this point. He arrived to be husboar to Tico as the only pig that could put up with her. He is a truly special pig it seems - Sarah at the rescue was concerned that a four-way bonding would be complicated but he fitted in with the ladies straight away! He backs off when they tell him to but will stand up for himself. He makes sure they all have the biggest egos, telling them just how sexy he thinks they are all the time, but gives them space when they ask.

At five years old he thinks all his Christmases and birthdays have come together and he is now absolutely exhausted from chasing three little tornadoes around the cage. He is very glad to demonstrate things like taking veg and begging at the bars though - such a caring gentlepig and an amazing role model. He even cleans up when they've rejected New Veg. So selfless.

What a gorgeous new group you have. Cookie must have indeed feel like all his wet dreams have come true at once!

Enjoy your new piggy journey!

Ah that’s lovely to read and wonderful for gorgeous Cookie ❤️

I once fostered a pair I called Esme (after Granny Weatherwax) and (nanny) Ogg. I was so sad when I had to give them back but Tico (a star wars name!) got in a rolling furball fight with Esme so it was never going to work out :(

Yes! And Stella too - it was the best I could do with Susan Sto Helit when my mum is also called Sue! It had to be a black and white pig of course ;)
Oh, of course 😂, I couldn’t work out Stella. My first rats were Esme, Gytha and Magrat (3 witchy ladies), we’ve also had Sardines and Peaches 🐀🐀. Now I need an excuse to call a guinea pig Dangerous Beans

Having new pigs is so fun, and these are the youngest I've had! It's wonderful watching them find their braves and learn about new things. Tiff has only just decided that human hands aren't terrifying, but on Wednesday she made the switch from "scary" to "tasty"!

I'm also having great fun slowly introducing them to all the various cage options. The loft was initially very scary and required a lot of cautious sniffing. Cookie went up and had a plip, as he does, and all the girls were baffled at the pig noises coming FROM ABOVE. They worked it out overnight and have loved it since! It's a great spot for begging. They inform me that you can fit four pigs in it, but only extremely briefly...
