I'm just wondering how to get my boys more up and about, any tips/advice?
I already switch up their toys, but they tend to just prefer to lie down, I'd just rather they spent a bit more time running around.
When they do though they popcorn and have a lot of fun, I just wish they'd do it more often
Have they just been too spoiled with toys, beds and stuff? Is it normal?

Thanks for putting up with my constant paranoia 😂

I sprinkle their nugget ration around so they have to find it on the opposite side of the cage to the water bottles, they like to drink with every nugget. I don't use a dish for veg either I spread that around. As piggies get older then do tend to move around a lot less.

They're not very old, I don't think they're even one yet (I don't know their exact birthdays as they're from Pets at Home, that is a good idea though

You may find tips and ideas in these two guides here, but please be aware that it is very difficult to get middle aged and older piggies moving if they are not interested!

My two are lazy! They are up and active for breakfast, eat that then have a snooze. Then they go out on the lawn, eat grass for about 45 minutes, quick run around and then into their bunny hut or ark for more snoozes. You rarely see them out until 4.00pm then they are grazing again. Inside for tea and cuddles then back to sleep 💤 they used to be far more active but they are 4 years old now so growing more and more chilled as time goes by, I’m the same, I love to chill out with a book or the forum and can happily nod off anytime x

Dot and Bernie seem to only be active early morning and again in the evening towards 5pm ish until i got to bed. It worries me sometimes because they are clearly not grazing. But they dont lose weight. I think they must munch on whats in the hidey houses. I layer the whole base of the cage with meadow hay

Mine are on hay too, inside and outside cages/hutches

Mine will happily spend hours just snoozing or sitting looking dozy.
They have a large cage with plenty of space for zoomies and stuff to play with (tunnels and hideys).
They will go crazy when out but after a while tend to put themselves back in the cage or find a place for a snooze. Priscilla’s favourite place is under the pan stand in the kitchen.
It’s just how they are
