This is the boys new c&c cage, i am happy with it and the boys were popcorning alot when they went in for the first time last night. :))

BUT they wont use the ramp to the hay loft, i put them both up in the hay loft and Joey came down but Gizmo took an hour to come down (he was eating hay and had a little sleep). Since they have both come down they haven't been back up, Gizmo has gone half way up and i have put treats on the ramp to encourage them to go up, but again they go halfway up and they come back down. They have only been in their new cage for one day, so i dont expect them to use it right away. rolleyes

Is it too steep? As i have compared it to the ones on Guinea pig cages and it looks like most of the ones on there.mallethead

At the moment i have the non slip material on the ramp and I'm going to get some carpet off cuts tomorrow to put on.

Give them a bit of time and then if they still don't use it maybe experiment with altering it.

Looks fab by the way :(|)

You could maybe try making the sides higher on the ramp? But is looks really good and i am sure they will love running up and down the ramp in no time!

The trouble with me is that i expect to much in such a little time. rollseyes But my mum said wait and see too, if they dont use it after a week i shall take it apart and they will just have the down stairs and i shall use the hayloft tray for hay down the bottom, but will cut it smaller of course.

I think i will ask my dad to bend the ramp abit more. Thanks for the tip.

I just worry they arent eating their hay but they have 2 hay racks and i put in the litter tray for tonight.

They were out for floortime when i took the photos that why you can see Joey in the first pic. :)

Well my dad has made a covering for the ramp out of the correx so its more like a tunnel and i put some veg on the ramp, so hopefully they will like it now.
If not i had another look on the guinea pig cages site and found a really easy ramp, so may change to that and see if they like it.
Here is the link of the ramp: http://imageevent.com/cavyspirit/cavycageseasyramps

hun the ramp is fine pebbles, wilma and Fred managed a similiar ramp if they can so will your lot... when it comes to veg put it at the top of the ramp they will soon work it out!

Some of mine have taken a couple of days to get the ramp but have in the end.

Patience for a few days and see what happens.

Hard I know!

Looks great BTW - love it.

Well we have changed the set up now and here are the photos.
They love the hay loft and have been up their eating hay and popcorning away, they went straight up this ramp and they had no problems.

I have put some of the old cheap hay in the hayloft mixed with some of the oxbow as its a large area to cover.

Looks absolutely fab hun and an obvious hit with the guys well done I love it.:(|)

I'm tired and need a nap hahahaha (guinea at heart) but am going to sleep dreaming of piggies and a cool cnc cage like this one! Gonna have to save up and get one of these! BRILLIANT!

Really cute, I was actually going to suggest making the ramp less steep. it's just i know if I was a little creature like that, i'd be a bit nervous ^_^ But you already did it =p

love your guinea's too they're dead sweet :)

Love to all

xx
