I just had to share this! I am a new piggy owner and thanks to this forum I have learnt loads and now on it almost daily! Well I was a bit stupid when I first got my wee little piggies two weeks ago I spent loads of money on little toys and hay, sawdust etc! Well I have changed my bedding to vet bed and it has made my life so much easier for cleaning their cage but also I have returned to the pet shop lots of toys that I bought (they were not used). Anyway egg boxes! My wee little piggies love egg boxes! They hide under pull apart and move with it underneath with on their backs its so cute! My word of advice to anyone who is a new piggie owner do not spend lots lots of money on toys for them! Mine have had more fun with cardboard boxes and running through towels and you can make tunnels out of old cereal boxes!
 
Like you I bought toys for them at first to soon realise that they are a complete waste of money. They prefer toilet rolls above anything else. Haven't tried egg boxes yet, but will do soon. ;)
 
My girls especially love anything stuffed with hay. They will ignore the regular hay and go straight for the new 'toy' (normally a box).

Mine dont do loo rolls or cardboard tubes BUT they are perfectly happy and love having lots of hay so they can tunnel, squeak, flatten, make nests, cover themselves in it...
As long as i have ltos of hay they are happy with just that for fun!

Yeap, stuff almost anything with hay and they will dig every single blade out!

Mine all have a big hay rack, but sometimes that is still reasonably full, but the wooden log stuffed with hay is usually empty! Love them!
 
They certainly do seem to all love different things which just show that every piggie has their own adorable personality!
