This is Merry. She is one of my gerbils. She lives in the same room as my piggies.

Sometimes Merry gets frightened.
When she gets frightened she thumps her feet.
This is Sam.

When Merry thumps her feet, she frightens Sam.
When Sam is frightened, he purrs.
When Sam purrs, he frightens Merry.
And the cycle continues... - this happened this morning for about 5 mins non-stop - thumping and purring and purring and thumping and reassuring noise from me.
