So in addition to their dry food, the boyz have vegetables which I usually hand feed them.

I'm very careful to make sure they both have exactly the same thing, exactly the same size... but at some point - despite the exactness of what they are eating - either Freddie or Marmalade will decide they would rather have what the other is eating. And so ensues the daily food squabble. {:| mallethead pow-pow

A head bobbing competition, sly food nicking, chasing and much squealing follows until eventually I have to stand each of them at either end of the cage and reintroduce them to their own piece of vegetable to restore peace @)

Why is this necessary? ?/

Have you tried scatter the veggies all over the cage floor? I know it can be messy but it lets them find their own food, and keeps them occupied :)

I have a large pottery dish for the pairs of piggies and the herd of girls (6) have three. Two piggies can eat comfortably at them but they swap around to see if the others have anything different, want what the other has etc. :))
Agree with the others that maybe two dishes of veggies would be an option ?/

Hi, I had this same problem a few weeks ago and someone on here advised me to seperate my boys at veggie time, I did and it worked well, I now normally feed Patches in the bottom of the hutch and bubbles at the top. They both get full tums this way!

I also "hide" veggies around the hutch, some in the tunnel, some inside a cardboard box and some in their hay rack.... they love the daily hunt!

I also experience exactly the same thing with my boars.

Ive even tried the theory of giving 3 items (each the same) to each piggy, but this doesnt work. Id give 1 carrot to each piggy then the next thing I know, George has then ran around the cage, hoovering up both Geoffreys and Bungles portions and takes them back to his hidden carrot. So while hes nicely munching on 3 portions, the other 2 have gone without!

I also have to suppervise mine during their meal/veggie times, so that I can ensure that theyve each had their fair share and enjoyed their meal in peace.

I even make them up a HUGE orgainc fruit and veg box and put it in their compound, but George will then rumble strut around this box so that the other 2 cannot get anywhere near it.

My recommendation is to feed them all individually under supervision. Then that way, you know that theyve all had something to eat.
