Careful what you wish for....my husband wore a baseball cap for a week after my first attempt with the clippers 😂
Going to do Shelby's this weekend but not sure I'm brave enough to do clippers on her as she is the most dramatic pig I have ever had.....I will see!

Just follow my guide and you'll be fine!
An Illustrated Guide to Hair Cutting

Piggy daddy was a bit insulted that when I cut his hair on Monday I just shoved any old clipper attachment on and hoped for the best... but I spent a while researching clipper numbers, lengths, styles, before deciding what to do with my lovely floof girls!

Can't wait till I get a long haired guinea Pig so I can style and cut her/him
It's not as easy as it looks. That's why I wrote a guide on it. There's lots of things to consider. It's not just shoving some food under a nose and clipping away. It took a few years for Betsy to sit still and be trimmed without someone else being on hand to stop her escaping. It also depends on the personality of your piggy, whether they will let you trim them, whether there are happy being handled and lots of other factors.

Okay thanks
Didn't mean to put you off or anything I just wanted to make you and other members aware owning a long haired piggy is a big responsibility that there are bum baths involved and regular bum trims, checks to make sure that nothing nasty is caught up in the fur, daily or at least bi-weekly brushing to get all the tangles out. There are lots of extra things to consider when getting a long haired piggy. Most of them don't like their fur being sorted either.

They certainly are not as easy to maintain as a nice short haired piggie, I can vouch for that! 😆

Yes the top bit we all see looking lovely and fluffy often hides an underneath area of yellow-stained wee pants and clumps of bum and tummy fur with poops and grease gland secretions matted into it that needs careful attention to keep longer haired piggies clean, trying to gently cut away any matted fur around their bum and nipples with nail scissors while they squirm and shriek like they are being murdered!
Not to mention the fur shedding in longer haired piggies, hours of brushing down their pretty tunnels and fleecy beds with a rubber brush to get the fur off before you do their laundry...

I can echo the experiences of other with long haired piggies.
Priscilla can be a real diva at times.
She constantly needs a bum trim and bits cutting out from matted fur.
She often lets the entire neighbourhood know she’s being horribly tortured and I have to wear PPE to avoid the nips.
Her fur in winter is long and luxurious - perfect for head tossing.
In summer she looks as if her slave doesn’t have a clue!
