I have been watching out for the sweetcorn in their silks and husks for the past few weeks now, and finally found some today in sainsburys. The girls have had a great time shredding it and have been munching on the corn itself, they do love it and with the season being so short I want to make the most of it whilst they're available.

Here's a little video of the girls enjoying their corn, it goes a bit wobbly towards the end and I can't get it to rotate but hopefully you can see the girls having some fun. Ruby is the gnger and the back and Esme is in the front and of course Rosie. Tia is hiding!

All for me?

Mine had theirs yesterday! Just the leaves though, no corn, they're fat enough as it is!

Haha, it's not very often that they would have the corn itself. It was something interesting for them to play with and munch on. Esme has lost a fair amount of weight since being on furosemide (to be expected) so she is a bit skinny at the moment- certainly wouldn't want her to go the other way too much.
I have another corn stashed away but having it for tea tomorrow so they can just have the outside bits :)

Mine have had theirs, too! But it is more of a hit-and-run exercise for the Tribe; nothing as polite as yours! I mostly chop it up into individual pieces, so everypig gets their fair share for that reason.

Given mine more leaves (and stringy bits!) tonight just before I've gone to bed...omg the munching is loud! Think I'll be awake until they've finished!

I deleted the video in which Tia-pig grabbed the corn and ran with it into the bedroom with it. The video was too wobbly as I had to rescue the corn so the others got some .

Mine also had their first corn of the day, they loved it. It was a new experience for Mitch but he soon got the hang of it.

Hi

I saw them for sale in the fruit shop yesterday and did look at them.

Mine have never had it before and as I am a little worried of introducing new things does it cause gas at all?

S x.

P S Rosie is gorgeous.:)p

We got ours from Lidl and my guys LOVED it as usual. Your piggies look so happy too.

We got ours from the market yesterday, 3 for £1. I was in Asda & Lidl this morning & Asda had the same ones they've had for ages, without all the leaves etc that the piggies love. None at Lidl who had them last year.

I'm taking my grandsons to the Maize Maze at Easingwold near York soon. I'll maybe ring first & see if they will sell some.

My OH who was travelling back from the North last night spotted a sign 'maize maze' and kept babbling on about it - definitely need to look into this in more detail :x

Mines about ready to pick so mine will be getting theirs at the weekend all being well, can't wait to see what they think to the leaves, they love corn :)

Gorgeous little piggies drool

Ah mine love the silks but not found any anywhere yet this year.

I've never found it to cause gas. Many try cutting the corn bit into pieces and only give a small amount along with the silks initially and work from there. My girls do get gassy but don't seem to be affected by the corn.

Love the spikey white haired one - How gorgeous! :) the others are beautiful as well
