….. from the right of the picture to the left! There’s a nice alcove under the stairs in the hall and I’ll still be able to interact lots with them.

Just a couple of things I wanted to ask the collective piggy mind, if you have a min…

1 - it would be slightly cooler - not by much tho
2 - as you can see it’s not as bright

I don’t think they will mind either, but just wanting to check with those who have more experience than me.

they love to hide and live under foliage naturally so the shade wont bother them. if anything it could make them even more active. you could always put a small light from the dollar store for them. If its above 15 C they should be fine.

They'll be fine. When it got too warm I used to move Comet and Blitzen into my bedroom, because of where the bed was, when the cage was beside the bed they were in constant shade. Not that it changed their shenanigans one bit, but I was more comfortable about it than living leaving them in the living room with all the sunlight.

That should be fine. As others have said they may become more active as they're more adapted to darker places.

Thanks all! I’ve moved them. Misjudged the width of the alcove by literally a cm, so I need to get a slightly thinner base, or trim a bit off. It’s stable for now and tomorrows another day!

They are happy as Larry, you were right! Don’t know what I was worried about!

Now …. Interesting - I’m noticing, in their dimmer light and slightly quieter, less disturbed area - they are found just flopped and sleeping in the open, or up against the side of the pen. They must feel more secure .
