We have 2 rescued females that hate each other! We rescued them one at a time from bad situations, and have been trying for 10 months to bring them together. We took things really slow since neither one ever had a friend. Their cages were side by side for 3 months, and they were both happy with company. They had floor time together but would never get close to each other. Then when they did neither would back down. They actually take turns instigating! Is there any hope for them. We have an amazing set up for them that we can't use, so they are both in smaller cages separated😢

Welcome ot the Forum.
It sounds like you have done everything right and are trying your best for your girls, but the harsh reality is that sometimes guinea pigs just don't get on.

I had a similar situation here when 2 of my females fell out and I was devastated - I had 4 guinea pigs in a 2 x 10 C&C cage and their set us was amazing.
But they ended up split into pairs and living in smaller cages.

I tried (and tried and tried) to rebond them, but once they have decided that they don't like each otehr that really is it.
So I would say you need to accept their decision not to live together and move forward from there.
Whether you want to keep them side by side or look for another companion for them is up to you.

Hi and welcome

Not all piggies love each other; they are very much like humans that you stick together in an office and expect to become instant best of friends - it doesn't necessary happen like that!

Single piggies that have never had company can be especially hard to pair up. I have one of them at home at the moment and we are pretty much on the last chance saloon after 9 months. Widowed older sows can also drive you to despair! At one point I had 4 four of them at the same time, but none would go with any of the others... :mal:

You may find that your two are much happier with a divider that allows them full time interaction through the bars but gives each their own territory. They still have companionship and constant stimulation that way, but there is no longer the territorial and dominance component. They can actually still remain bonded, just have each their own queendom! This also works for fallen-out can't live together but can't live apart boar pairs, of which we have quite a few on here! ;)
