Hi,
I just thought that I would give news about the baby girls who will be 8 weeks next week! I wanted to ask as well , what are your thoughts about fleece verses hay as bedding?
Since having my C&C cage, I started of with fleece and I found the smell was worse than when I used Hay! The fleece looked good but when I used hay this week, the piggies were over joyed . I'm actually more interested about what is best for them . So I anyone can share their thoughts on this subject , I would be more than grateful.
Thank you

oh they are adorable! :love::love::love:

if you are able to get good quality hay for a decent price then i think it makes a great bedding for them and they seem to love it. it does need changing daily though if used with just newspaper underneath. i have a large garden potting tray for mollie and benjie filled with hay and they love burrowing and playing in there :love: every so often, usually the day before a full clean, i put hay over the bedding in the rest of the cage and they love that :love: after mollie's spay a while back, they had to be bedded on newspaper and hay only so i could change it easily 2-3x a day and they seemed to really enjoy being on it. it always looks lovely and natural too. i'd probably use it alot more as bedding if i could get farm bales of hay :)

fleece is also great and aslong as it has an absorbent layer underneath it, and is changed at least twice a week, then it shouldn't smell :)

i find that the type of fleece can make a difference with smells though. i got some beautiful fleece blankets from asda a while back but for some reason they became smelly after less than a day in the cage so they had to go even though i nearly shed a tear because of how cute the prints were :( :))

Aww they're cute piggies.

If they are happier with the hay, then I'd go with the hay :-)
