Talk about panic stations!
I got home from work earlier to find my daughter rushing out from the back garden telling me I wasn't allowed to go that way. She was reluctant to tell me why but after she was subjected to my motherly 'glare' for a few moments
she admitted to me that she had been filling up the piggies food, water and hay as a surprise so that I didn't have to do it when I got home, but that Marshmallow had taken the opportunity for a run and performed a running jump out of the hutch!
I raced around the back to find my hubby on his belly with his arm under the hutch and a makeshift fence erected around the places where the fugitive piggie could escape into the road or forest behind our house, poor Marhsmallow was terrified and had curled up into a little fluffy ball in the furthest corner underneath the hutch and he wasn't budging. Apparently they had been trying to retrieve him for an hour. We got him out a few minutes after I arrived as it was easier for me to tempt him out with some of his favourite Kale and he is now firmly back in his cell..*ahem*, I mean hutch
with his friend Cookie.
It gave me a right fright at the time but I can imangine it from Marshmallows point of view
"Freedom, Yay!...eeeek! Freedom is cold and wet, retreat, retreat!...argh, can't get back...hide!"
I'm thinking of changing his name to Ronnie Biggs, lol
