Last weekend we extended the pen our piggies have for playtime to double the amount of room they have to run and jump about and generally get their exercise. Ever since, our two bonded piggies, and Blaze (the dominant boar) in particular, have made every effort to try and escape. :o

Not only have they somehow managed to unhook two of the inter-locking fences and got out through the gap created, which we only realised they'd done when we saw them running under the dining room table, but Blaze has even managed to get out underneath the fence by "burrowing" under one of the panels.

I never realised how smart guinea pigs were until I saw this last effort with my own eyes. It was very funny but also worrying. :-\ They seem obsessed with getting out, it's almost as if the extra space they've been given has made them want even more. We're not entirely sure how to try and stop them continuing this behaviour. Has anyone else had similar experiences?
