Alisa3114
Teenage Guinea Pig
Had the fright of my life yesterday morning
Got up half asleep as usual and was going to the bathroom when I heard a squeak as I was walking out the bedroom door and thought it must be one of Ava's toys (it was still too dark to see anything) left on the floor, went to carry on walking and heard another squeak and something moved ( nearly jumped out of my skin). Turned the light only to find it was Alisa and not a toy on the floor. I scooped her up quick and gave her a thorough once over to check there was nothing wrong with her and went to check on the cage and how she got out and if anyone else had escaped. Ava was still sleeping so woke her up, checked the cage and the lid was pushed open slightly but all the other girls were happily munching hay.
It driving me mad wondering how she got out as she's such a fatty she doesn't really climb like the others. Only thing I can think of is she either did climb on top of the carrot house or hay rack and it nudged the lid open and she climbed out. Ava's bed is right next to the cage so she would have had a soft landing.
I even thought perhaps Kitty had climbed in the cage and grabbed her but she was out all night and didn't come back in until after this had happened so can't blame her.
Even entered my mind that perhaps my son had been sleep walking and piggie napped her from the cage
But it's a mystery how she got out, only plus is that when I was checking her over I found a marblish size lump on her back that I've never felt before so she's off to see the vet on the weekend
