Aww! I'm so sorry to rain on your parade, but as its only been 4 weeks there is still a chance she could get pregnant! Weibke has a baby that was concieved during run play time with a boar that was 5 and a half weeks post neuter (its rare, but it can happen)

I'm glad hes found a lady friend, but it might be best to keep them seperate a little longer!

P.S shes lovely! :)

oh no really? the vet told us that 2/3 weeks was ok but we waited 4 weeks to be safe! eep! they've been abit amarous quite afew times already :x

oh dear! at 2 weeks it would have been very unsafe! :/ Unfortunatly there is alot of miss information about neutering piggies! 6 weeks to be 100% safe. :/ Hopefully someone will come along and advise more soon! If possible, i would seperate untill hes 6 weeks post op. But it depends how tricky that is for you.

How old is his new lady friend?

The little lady is delightful!

However - you are about as safe as human contraception by four weeks (i.e. over 90%), but you will be 100% safe only at 6 weeks post op; only by then the very last "tadpole" will have surely dried up!

The little baby in my avatar was the surprise present from a for all intents and purposes "safe" boar of over 5 weeks post op who was allowed a couple of days on the lawn with some girls prior to being rehomed - quite, quite rare (it must be down to the last 1% or less), but as you can see not impossible!

It is up to your mum and the rescue you are rehoming from to decide how many chances you want to take on this issue. Yes, over 50% of boars are safe after 2-3 weeks, but usually you are putting a piggy through the operation so nothing can happen at all! mallethead

Its not your fault, but you really should put in a complain to the vet because giving out wrong advice is not on! :)
