I want to preface this by saying this was my own stupidity at work here !
S'mores needed to be fetched out of the playpen and back into his nice clean house....but instead of taking a towel in which to either corner and or catch hiM
With I reached in a grabbed hold of him. He bit me straight away and thankfully he wasn't far from floor because I released him. I knew better as he is ok being lifted out of his cage because it's about eye level but down in the play pen he is way lower than I and thus fear bites. I thought I would post on here to tell all piggy newbies if you have a piggy that is over fearful please fetch him/her out with a towel gloves or scoop up in a cosey first...I've got a painful lesson and don't wish anyone to have to learn the hard way as I have :). And. An I just add :0. Owieeeeeeeeee!
Lesson learned !

Aww poor you ! Piggy bites can be really painful, i never realised how powerful there little mouths were until i got one to the finger ! Ouchie indeed !

Oh no! Poor you, i have to say *touch wood* in the 4 years i have had piggies i have never been bitten. Hope your ok x

Thanks ! I'm ok thankfully he released me when I released him. I have holes from both top and bottom teeth although they are so close together it looks like one hole...he got me in between two fingers on the thin fleshy part and it bled a bit. I cleaned it out really well and gave myself an antibiotic flush "needle and antibiotic liquid shot into it repeditly" . It's already scabbing over and almost all the soreness has gone. I don't blame s'mores as I know it was totally a fear bite... I blame myself for breaking the routine and not taking a towel as I know he will bite if scared. I'm fine but definatly learned my lesson!

Ouch, sounds painful! I've been lucky that my girls have never bitten me, but I can imagine it must hurt alot!

Well it wasnt pleasent but I think he could've bit harder if he had wanted to. I had a parrot bite me before and I must say if given a choice I'll take the piggy bite over parrot bite any day. Thanks for the well wishes .... Mostly just wanted To warn newly piggy owners of what can happen

Fudge likes to lick my fingers but never bites but Aero on the other hand likes to nip! She never does it hard just little ones .. :p

wow! I cant believe you were bitten? Ive always thought that pigs very rarely bite or show aggression towards humans... Ditto is nervous at times and has never bitten me.. Tut tut naughty pig hope your war wound heals up nicely keep it clean :-)

Naughty piggy! Hope you're ok.

Choccy bit me on the toe last week, when I tried to heard him back from the living room floor after floor time. He obviously didn't want to go back, came and bit me and glared at me! (I didn't have any shoes/slippers on socks on -- ow!)

Well I have had licks and nibbles...but s'mores when really frightened of the hand grabbing him will nip or bite depending on whose grabbing and from what level. If he is same hight as my shoulders or head he will squeal n run and may do a light barely feel it nip....but if he is down at my feet and I go to pick him up...he freaks out and turns and bites so us I've learned to take a towel or cozy and kinda scoop him up...this time stupid me just reached in and he bit hard. Sorry for all of those who also have been bitten....I know it's rare but it seems smores is a right naughty pig tee hee...such a cutie though

OUCHIES!!!
The girls send you healing kisses and loves XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

It sounds like you and S'mores both had a big surprise! I'm sure he'll settle down as he matures :)

Velvet has coped me a couple of times on the inside of the arm whilst i've been bathing her :{ i usually wear a jacket so she can't get me now!

edit: meant to say the only reason is cause she hates her butt being touched...!

Velvie we "s hates the bum bath too...silly hoomans!

Love: ** boys
They were born in dec the lady said so I would officially call them teenagers :D
I see how mellow an passive Gus is as he is bought 12 mo or so , and pray s'mores will mellow out with time ... But sometimes I kinda like that he's spunky and naughty...and patch is Like a michevous imp... He has no fear or shyness....climbed himself into the refigerator when I opened it yesterday an found the apple sack and was knowing away.... I fetch him out and fuss at him he wheeks at me and hops right back in...had to shove him in my shirt to get what I was after! I was laughing so hard...wish I'd got it on video
