The importance of paper

We are always collecting papers and asking for donations of papers.

OH's Mother has commented several times about how much paper we collect from her friends and other people rolleyes

We use it here for lining the cage's even under towels and fleece. Under sawdust for the buns.

Sometimes we shred the newspaper and put a huge pile in the piggys cage, it gets the same reaction as hay. Its also warm for piggys to snuggle in, that need to be cleaned alot (tummy problems)

Piggys love the noise it makes as they play with it.
The animals eat it too. So recycling (haha evil mummy?)

They play with it. Storm the bun loves nothing more than to tear sheets of newspaper to bits. Also the piggys love to play in sheets of paper. As do the mice.

We LOVE to see how happy our piggys are (most coming from very bad backgrounds and do not like people) and how far they have come with our care, love and TLC. So if giving them newspaper makes them happy, we will continue to give them paper. Theres no better sight than an Abused piggy coming out of his shell and popcorning like crazy over a piece of NEWSPAPER!

To top it all off, its a FREE toy.

Now the thread is called the importance of paper because i wonderd what everyone else does with newspaper. Do you use it with your animals? What for?

I love my family as grandparents always bring around bags of bundled together newspaper, its essential over winter in thick layers for comfort

i get newspaper from neighbours and family and use it under shavings in the rescue piggies or use it to put in the hay loft i also use it for my 2 ratties lilly and dasie as i hate to use shavings in them as its not good for them dasie loves to shread it@)

myfriends dad delivers the telegraph to shops so he always gives the the bundles that are left

My dad saves papers for me and I use them under megazorb in the litter trays. I've also started using newspaper to make templates for sewing piggy cuddle cups, etc. I feel very thrifty. |)

Me too, got some funny looks when I got caught. Just as well they're my hubbys brother and his wife, I got away with it. Now they leave them in my front porch every Thursday.
