Well our Jerry and Vinnie are definitely giving me a show this past few weeks - jazz hands and all! So much so that I had to take all of their furniture out and provide only hay mounds yesterday. This list of behaviours is what they are up to at the moment:

Raised fur or hackles (Jerry)
Hip Swaying (Vinnie)
Loud Rumblestrutting (Vinnie)
"Nose offs" (Jerry)
Bottom sniffing (Vinnie)
Dragging the bottom along the ground (Vinnie)
Occasional snorting (Jerry)
Very loud teeth chattering (Vinnie mostly but Jerry can join in)
Yawning to show the teeth (Both)
Kicking out (Both)
Once witnessed wee squirting (Vinnie, this was ages ago)

And then they go back to sharing the food bowls or hay mounds, having a sleep at the same end of the cage (not at the moment though they are at separate ends this afternoon) and generally being OK with each others presence. Vinnie is 1 year old in March and Jerry will be 1 year old in July roughly so I believe what I am experiencing is hormone spikes. Would you guys agree? I'm keeping an eye on it and crossing everything that can be crossed that they do not escalate into biting.

The other update is that the Adoption place near me has two girls that need a home, every time I go in the staff say "when are you taking the girls hint hint". They have recently given birth and were handed in (along with a myriad of other Guineas) by a farmer. Apparently he has been told they won't accept any more from him so I hope to goodness he sorts himself out as obviously its extremely irresponsible whatever he is doing. Anyway they have been there for months so I have been pondering on whether to bring them home prior to Vinnie and Jerry kicking off. If Jerry and Vinnie don't sort themselves out and it does escalate it does mean I would have wives waiting for them if I had to go forward with neutering. But at the same time I really would like the boys to work out. Question in regard to this is does anyone have two boys and two girls in separate cages but in the same room and would this destabilise the boys further?

Sorry for the MAHOOOSIVE thread! I haven't posted in a while though so it makes up for that LOL

I have 4 boys together in a 6x2 c andc cage on the bottom, and onthe top c and c i have a neutered boar with three sows, ive not had any problems ! maybe just try and handle the boys before the girls.most of my boars are neutered as i do not want any mishaps or surprises !
