After a truly horrid day I decided to pop into the local supermarket to get veggies for the piggies. There was a whole heap of reduced cabbage so I plonked it all into a basket and headed to the till. After waiting at the till point for a while the old gentleman in front turned round and said "I hope you don't mind me asking but what are you going to make with all that cabbage?"
I told him that I fostered for a rescue and that the veggies were for all the piggies. Just before he left with his shopping he handed me £4 and said that the piggies could have dinner on him tonight.
It caught me by surprise and I just felt so overwhelmed that this stranger would do something so thoughtful.

oooh how nice is that ...what a lovely man
in my local veg shop the owner "andrea" quite often give's me veg for the piggy's that our just past there sale date :)
some people are really very generous:)

Oh, how lovely. What a very nice man.
Just hearing about things like this...It just brightens up my day.

Aaaaawww, how lovely. I'm filling up:0 What a lovely thing to do.

I try and spread the word about the rescue to as many people as possible and this was such a touching gesture.

It pleases me emensly to see that there is still spontanious love in this world.

What a beautiful gesture – that made me feel a little emotional. Bless that old man! x

That's really sweet :)

I wish more peoplewere like that.

On a similar note, a neighbour of mine recently lost her cat. She lives across the way from me and she was stopping everyone and asking them if they'd seen her cat and had pics etc. That afternoon (about a week or so ago) I stopped by to see if I could help her look for her cat and I put a picture up in my building. Two days ago her cat came back and the owner rang our buzzer. I went down and, even though I hadn't actually done anything which led to her getting her moggy back, she gave me a bottle of wine! Can you believe it?! I feel a bit guilty for taking it now tbh.

Some people really help you reaffirm your belief in good human nature.

What a lovely man - and he'll never know how many hearts he's touched by his gesture, not just yours Romily, but all of ours.
