Midget & Louis-Vuitton
And my new boys monsieur cochon & Pierre, MC is the white coronet x and Pierre is the tri colour sheltie x.
Monsieur cochon sounds very posh but in french it means Mr Pig and i thought it suited him perfectly.
here is there story
Basically these boys weren't planned, My mum spotted an ad when she was out of town for "two guinea pigs free" so she called me and i called the woman.
She basically said on the phone that she couldnt remember the colours just that they were boys and her kids were bored with them, she also mentioned her dog was trying to kill them at every opportunity.
When i arrived they showed no care about where the pigs were going and just handed them to me, of course i did as some questions.
The husband during this was holding the tri colour piggy while smoking which made me very uncomfortable.
The cage was up the back of the property in an old shed, the cage was a reasonable size but had nothing in it except for newspaper, wire floor and what looked like months worth of poo's..
I asked the ages and the man remembered the ages his kids got them and worked it out that way, the white boy is around 3 and the tri colour is 18 months.
They had been feed bad petshop seed mix, greens once a week and no hay.
When i put them in the carrier they ate every piece of veg in it just in a 30min trip so the poor babies were starving.
Once home i gave them a look over, the white boy was in worse condition but both have mild scurvy, mites but are now treated, and just general lack of condition, they also had very dirty build up on there teeth but there teeth were ok apart from that.
I introduced veg slowly but they couldnt get enough of it and went nuts at every feed time, they both however dont like greens that much since they now have proper variety.
They love the pellets too and have gained a ton of weight, it did take a few days for them to figure out what hay was but now they are eating more than four of my pigs put together which is great, I'm also guessing because of the lack of water at there old home is the reason why they drink so much of it now.
arrival weights were
Pierre-tri sheltie x-850g now 1033g
MC-Coronet x- 704g now 913g
the white boy is massivly barbered maybe because of the lack of food and maybe some boredom but I'm hoping his hair will grow back.
I was meant to take these boys to the rescue but i fell in love so both are staying here.
