I have just calculated that I have travelled 2,204 miles in the name of pigs in the last 12 months alone, between July 2011 and July 2012

Bristol - Llandiloes - (via Carmarthan!) Bristol - 285 miles taking Jeff dating at All About the Animals rescue, Wales (got a little lost!)

Bristol - Llandiloes - Bristol - 241 miles, return journey with Jerff and Cameo

Bristol-Oldbury-Bristol - 171 miles to get 2 cages for my pigs

Bristol-Glynneath GPR-Yate-Bristol - 165 miles, Piggy Bank scabby boys transport

Bristol - Northampton - Bristol - 279 miles, taking Ben to Debbie at The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary (TEAS)

Bristol-Exeter-Swindon-Bristol - 242 Miles, part journey of Cornflake from Exeter to Debbie at TEAS

Bristol-Cardiff-Bristol (overnight) - Northampton - Bristol - 368 miles - Transporting Rose from Vardiff to Debbie at TEAS

Bristol - Glynneath GPR - Bristol - 141 miles Taking Big Dave dating and Little Dave to his fantastic forever home

Bristol - Glynneath - Bristol - 141 miles, bringing Big Dave and Maggie home!

Bristol-Oldbury-Bristol - 171 miles to get 2 more cages for my pigs

I wonder what the next 12 months will bring?!

What lengths have you gone to, all in the name of pig?

walsall and back for silver

bristol to taunton (and I live slap bang in the middle so from home and back to) for piggy train

to suzys and back for the boys

not quite as bad but I have a complication of limit to the length of distance I can safely drive :red

Sure! why not! What about your PB trips?

That was her PB trips!

Collecting my boys and then returning them.

I have done Aberdeen to Gretna and back on three occasions in the last year.

Once to pick up Louie and then sending Patch and Sneezy to Debbie and then collecting Sneezy and Wispa.

That's a total of 1,356 miles.... Eek!

Er, I dashed to the mini Tesco in my pjs last night just before they shut at 11 cos I couldn't bear them having no evening veg, they only had to wait until morning but I felt guilty for forgetting, does that count?
I did get some funny looks lol

It's now roughly 1,656 miles in less than 18 months! Oh me. Did a drive of roughly 300 miles today to get Fry and Louie their new wives. I shall do a thread in the next few days. Too tired right now!

I can only imagine! Probably quite a scary thought for you.

Half of today's journey was country roads and really windy ones at that! Made for a pretty interesting journey. Scenery was stunning.... wish we'd taken our camera.

The only bad part of the journey was on the way back a silly grouse walked out in front of my car and I couldn't stop or go round it, so unfortunately I hit it. It was horrible, felt so guilty that I cried :(

Ermm driving to Mildenhall ( 24 miles ) and back to collect Bounty

Driving to Mildenhall and back to collect Butterscotch .. RIP :(

Wiltshire to Rugby to pick up Bumbles wife pigs - 8hr round trip because my car doesnt go up hills or go very fast - wiltshire - reading to pick up 3 sets of grids from B & Q to build 2 new c & C cages -

completely re-arranged house / paid council to remove furniture / stored perfectly good furniture in coal shed in order to take in daughters best friends guinea pigs with a view to re-homing them - vets trip for one of said guinea pigs costing £85 because of large lump - trip to Yate small animal rescue to donate cage - possible future trip to donate correx - special weekly trips to visit Aldi for piggy veg :))

And people think I'm a little soppy for wanting to go to Newcastle to pick up a guinea when I live in Liverpool. If he's the one for my girl then I'll make a day of it!

3 cheers for you for making things happen for us guinea slaves in love!
