I was woken up this morning at 10 past 1 by the loudest, most beautiful singing coming from my spare room. (Which is being used as an emergency 'hospital' for the rescue!). When I went to investigate it was Katie, a young girl who came into the rescue recently with her friend Penny via a deprivation order, they had severe urine burns and are very underweight. She was sat in her 'armchair' with her head thrown back and singing like a bird for a good 5 or 6 minutes. This went on a couple of times and then all went silent. She has not done this before, so it warmed my heart to hear her.

But, the most amazing thing is, this morning I just phoned the vets to enquire about Betsy, a lovely older girl who went in for spaying yesterday due to ovarian cysts. She was kept in overnight and is very poorly. The vet told me that she is recovering and is doing ok (still not eating by herself though) :( Anyway, he said that through the night they had a bit of a panic as her temperature dropped and she started shallow breathing, it was around 1am!

Now, I'm a great believer in fate and I swear Katie was singing for Betsy, willing her to get better and hang on. This little songbird is a true miracle, not only surviving what she did, but helping Betsy too. A little angel sent to help . :)

Heres a piccy of Katie and Penny... (Katie is the white piggy)

I love to hear them "sing",it doesnt happen very often and is usually in the early evening, and mostly the younger piggies.

oh that is beautiful! we just dont understand enough about different species, i like to think she was helping betsy x x

Oh my god that is just so amazing! I am sure little Katie knew about Betsy not being well. Wow. I am really stunned by that.

How lovely! Hope Betsy keeps getting better. Katie must have known she needed a little help in the early hours! x x

@ TiddlesMidnight&Squeaky: It's exactly like a bird cheeping! My Willow is a bit of a singer - never heard any of my other 5 sing :)

What a beautiful story, it brought a tear to my eyes as well. I do hope little Betsy will make a full and speedy recovery - and what a very special girl little Katie is. Please keep us posted.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, Katie is a very special piggy. :) Betsy has come home today and although isn't eating by herself yet, she is devouring the critical care and added baby food! ;) Fingers crossed for a full recovery for Betsy.

Aw, that made all my hair stand on end and bought tears to my eyes :)
One of girls 'chirps' occasionally and it is beautiful although freaked me out the first time she did it :(|)
Sending cuddles and healing vibes to your beautiful girls xx>>>

It was really odd, I woke thinking it was the alarm clock I think. :))

Sending healing to Betsy - yes - many people believe animals are telepathic and psychic - x

Awww this is so sweet! One of mine years ago chirped like a bird, only once, & it was very unnerving, especially as she looked like she was in a trance rolleyes

Joanne why do you always have such gorgeous piggies? x) Lol!

I think I am a teeny bit in love with these two, especially Penny rolleyes

Hopefully these girls will be available for adoption in the future once they are fully recovered! Lovely little ladies they are...;)

Betsy is doing great by the way and has just been munching some curly kale all by herself. :(|)
