CharlottiesPiggies

Because a couple of mine have skin problems, I was thinking that shavings and hay arent the best thing for them - I was going to have them on Hemcore as it doesnt break down as easily....however I would still like them to have hay to nest in. I would like to give them Readigrass too, but I am not too sure how u give it to them, do you just make a small pile? or what?

Thanks for the advicse, also any other suggestions are warmly welcome.

vetbed thats what i got, look on ebay mine was 20 but i got 2 out of it :)

Hi one of my piggies was getting eye infection after eye infection followed by respiratory infections that would not go away. Someone suggested vet bed to me as I had tried dust extracted hay, megasorb (paperbased bedding), shedded newspaper (what a mess!) and was near to pulling my hair out. I found some profleece (very similar to vet bed with a slightly softer backing - easier to fold up and put in the washing machine) on a well known auction site and I haven't looked back at the time it was slightly cheaper but last time I looked vetbed had the edge! Alice is much better, she went on her holiday to spend time with my mum who thought it would be nice to give her a chance to burrow into the hay - she did love it but the next day her chest infection was back, she had been clear for almost a year. I stick her hay in a hay rick or she would just burrow into it again. I give them boxes to run in and out of, but she seems to like flopping out on the cosy bedding. I have all my piggies on it, the only problem is I went for dark grey (shows the poo less!) but I can't find Miranda very easily seeing that she is the same colour! :D

VET BED VET BED VET BED! This stuff is a god-send! my two love it, i put a big pile of hay inside the cage every day and the result is two very happy chaps indeed!
