When ZumZum lost his brother recently we were worried that he would grieve very badly. So when the opportunity to get him a new buddy cropped up very soon after, we took the chance. Two friends from another forum were going to Walsall to pick up a husboar for one of their girls and invited me along, so I took the chance and went to RSPCA Walsall with ZumZum to pair him up with one of the boys there. Vicky and I did some preliminary introductions by holding ZumZum and another piggy face to face. Zum seemed to like one boy in particular, so we tried them out together in an open pen on the lawn. All went very well, all the signs were good, so after about 30 minutes I decided it might work for them both.
Well, we know that these things don't always turn out the way they started off. ZumZums grief went into an angry phase and he took it out on the new boy. The new boy was moved into his own C&C and we went with plan B. Zum is now two balls lighter and waiting out his time before Lucy and Holly can move in with him. The two girls have had lots of previous chest time with Zum and never a cross word was spoken.
The new boy is about 6 moths old and a little tornado, hardly surprising as he's a cross between an Abysinian and a Himilayan. He's really settled in well so we are going to keep him and when a a suitable girl turns up for him he will have a wife.

So, here's Billy.....

OH MY GOD!

You keep a watch on your house as I am coming to kidnap him! I saw one just like this in my local store but as I had 4 piggies and she was a girl I couldn't get her but I haven't forgotten her and I've never seen another since until now!

SO CUTE! -puts on kidnapping outfit-

Your new boy, Billy is lovely. I'm just a little mystified as to why you had ZumZum neutered. In guinea pigs it doesn't alter their behavior like it does in rabbits. Please ignore the last part, I had missed the bit about ZumZum waiting for some wives.

The post states he got neutered to have wives Instead

Sorry, just re-read it & saw I'd missed the part about him waiting for 2 wives. Thanks Briony for pointing this out.

@Stewybus we had Zum neutered because "Zum is now two balls lighter and waiting out his time before Lucy and Holly can move in with him." He will be having his long time next door girls move in with him. Zum is very sweet natured with girls.
In my experience neutering does alter a boars behaviour. EG the ASBO Twins stopped arguing with each other after the Skinnys were neutered. The Skinnys stopped scenting and flowering/puckering their bums at the girls. For some reason their poos get smaller. I firmly believe that there is less testosterone in the air. However, it might just be that Dindy Towers has that effect on piggys.

Yes, Briony corrected me earlier, I'm not very good at speed reading & missed the important part about him awaiting 2 wives. I hope it all works well with ZumZum, Lucy & Holly.

Billy is gorgeous! So glad he will too eventually be getting a wifepig. Good luck to the upcoming nuptials for ZumZum(love the name BTW), Lucy & Holly. Although as you say, it looks ver good for that trio.

I'd figured that you had missed it, so I dropped the quote in to remind you. But as I'm not a speed typer, I missed other peoples posts pointing it out by the time I replied.:mal:
Zum will continue to have regular chest time with Lucy and Holly in preparation for the near future. Lucy and Holly have formed a lovely bond since Holly was introduced to the troupe as a new and very timid girl some weeks ago. All the piggies have been treated for hay mites today, so none of them are talking to me at the moment. Hay mites aren't a problem normally unless their numbers grow to the point where they can be seen easily.

awwwwwwww Billy is adorable, Can I keep him? lol :))

Buddy (in my profile pic) was kind of an abylayan... a mismatched himi and aby cross, added to his crazy look when one ear was pink and one grey with a tiny grey/black patch off to the side of his nose lol

What a cute little boy! Such a pity that Zumzum, the most laid back and gentle boy, took it out on him. But I am sure that he won't complain about finally getting two wives of his own!

Billy is stunning, and I am sure will have a very happy time you!

Sue and Winston from Cavy Corner are coming over tonight to help with bagging up the magazine. So I will let Sue have Zum and the girls for chest time, she'll love it. I shed a tear or two when I saw my favourite Tribe girl Ceri on the Rainbow Bridge page. Hafren is quite the camera hogger in Tidbits, she had me laughing.

Billy is turning out to be quite a tornado, he knows his name already.

I am very fond of Zumzum; he is a lovely boy. Good that Billy is settling in so well!

All the best with bagging up the magazine! I wish I wasn't so far away!

I still miss Ceri lots, despite all my new great piggies. Hafren is SUCH a sofa potato; the new Tidbits of the Tribe in the magazine is rather a slow burner, I think, but it will hopefully make the readers chuckle!
