Hello,

Sorry for the mass of threads and photos lately, I just thought I'd share my future dad-in-laws amazing handy skills!

He made the chicken coop, enclosure and ramp all himself! The coop has a lift up mini roof at the back to collect the eggs, and nesting boxes/ roosting shelves inside too. The enclosure is going to have a patio and dirt pit where the chickies can scratch and have fun.

The enclosure just needs the roof, isn't it amazing? I so so want one for the pigs! :))

Its currently housing the 'baby chicks' but once they've all put on weight and are the same size/weight as the big girls they'll be introduced and living in here.

I realllly want one though for the pigggies......

This looks fab, Laura! :) Very talented! Have you had chickens before? I only ask, as my fiance's parents got chickens for the first time about 2 years ago...unfortunately, they did not realise how quickly the cold can make them ill :( they put a little oil heater thing in their bedding area (which was like a little den), but one of them died in the winter :( shortly afterwards, the other started to go the same and so they had her put down. I don't mean to put a downer on things for you, but would hate for the same thing to happen to you come winter...they aren't very hardy creatures, you'll really need to take extra care now with it getting colder.
