I've had Sonnet for a month now! I'm so glad to have found a friend for my Kindle finally. She seemed to have a pretty laid-back temperament when I picked her out, but once she got settled in, she turned out to be a lot more timid than I expected. She would cry when she was picked up, and although she tolerated being held and petted, she never made any happy noises and even nipped me a few times.

Here's how things have changed after a month of TLC and gentle daily demonstrations that cuddles are good things:

Hello friend!

Nibble!

OMG the bottom of her feets! She actually likes to be held with her toes tucked up into my fingers like this. I have a little hedgehog bowl that would fit her exactly if I can get her to sit in it like this and get a photo of it. It will be amazing if I can. XD

I was able to hold them together for the first time today! Sonnet is getting much better about being picked up, and curiously, Kindle has been too ever since she got a friend! :)

Got some more worth sharing!

So I've had the two girls spending time with me in their green house while I work for a number of hours now, and I noticed they were looking like VERY tired pibs, so I thought I'd let them go to sleep in their nice quiet cage...

They both immediately did this. Yeah, I think they're sleepy. XD

WE FEAR AND HATE THE LIIIIIIGHT! *AGGRESSIVE BURROWING CUDDLES*

Okay the thing is, though? This is KINDLE'S SHOULDER. Kin has never had to share before!

"Well, I GUESS we both fit..."

"But seriously mom NO. I will STAND ON HER HEAD AND TAKE YOUR GLASSES because I am SLEEPY and she's in MY SPOT!"

I gave Kindle extra cuddles and let her get properly burrowed on her shoulder for a good long hug after I put Sonnet back. Kin has been having a few jealousy issued learning to share things with her new sister when I let them both do special activities together. I'm trying to make sure Kin gets extra cuddles and treats and gets to do things with me alone so she understands she's still my super special girl and I think she's adjusting really well... She's never been violently aggressive towards Sonnet, so when she throws little tantrums like this, it really just makes me laugh and fall in love even more with her personality. Sonnet is such a perfect match for her, too -- as you can see, she is just pretty zen about the world and not very bothered by Kindle's misbehaving... even when someone is standing on her head.

Wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing
