The noise I've been waiting for...

As some of you know we recently got our girls on June 9th and they've gradually been settling in.
Truffles will readily take food from my hand, even when she's in the hutch. The other two would need to be outside in the temp run to accept food from me or anyone else. But they're getting there.

Anyway, they've been very quiet (apart from some rumble strutting!) Until this morning when I approached their hutch and run and I heard it...

WHEEK! WHEEK! WHEEK!

I was so happy!

It’s such a wonderful sound isn’t it? My sow only wheeks occasionally and my boar prefers to rumble. I do miss wheeking although I would never change Ellen and Edward

It's great when you first hear it! The first wheek! I never get tired of hearing it. My oldest doesn't wheek much now but her friend makes up for it

I wondered if they were just extra hungry as Truffles was practically standing by the veg bowl as I was filling it up!

But yes, it's the best sound. I hope to hear it a lot more!

My girls get really loud! Rose almost sounds like a whistle when she really goes for it! I love the sound!

The happiest noise I hear from new piggies is the sound of them drinking for the first time. I know that they've found the water then.
