I could see Ernie looked depressed and I couldnt see anything physically wrong with him. After being given seprin it has not changed his depressive looking self. Ernie as not been very active all the time I have had him. But he looked all hunched up and puffed out. So I was thinking is it just that he cant stand being on his own and now feels life is depressing him. Cos when I get him out and fetch him in the house he perks up. So at 10am yesterday I tried Eddie with him and Eddie consistently tried to hump him. Ernie told him off and he would on times back away. But I thought even though there was no fighting it was to much for the poor old boy. So I separated them and put Ernie back in his own cage. At 12.30am I thought I wouldnt what Duncan would be like. He humps Ernie now and again but not as much as Eddie did. He lays by Ernie eats with him. So they spent the night together and are still together. Fingers crossed.

I am thinking is it unfair cos we dont know how long Ernie is gonna be with us but who knows how long any of us got left really.

Poor Ernie :laluot_29:
Hopefully Duncan will give him some comfort. x

Duncan? Seriously - WOW!

Maybe he's mellowing as he gets older - watch he doesn't bully Ernie too much as he stopped Jaffa Cakes from moving around the cage freely or eating unmolested when they lived together.

Keeping my fingers crossed Duncan has finally grown up!

Yip I was surprised too. If I need to I dont mind separating them during feed time. I will weigh Ernie to make sure hes not losing weight too. Duncan is a sweetheart I love him soooooooo muchly.

Awww..hope the friendship blossoms. x

They are still together and was eating out of the food dish together this morning. Ernie looks a lot more cheerful today. Hes still on the bytril though. He was climbing the cage for me to clean them out. Hes not done that since Bert died. Duncan is so layed back with him apart from the occasional humping bit.

What wonderful news! It looks like they are settling in really into their companionship now.

They are still together Duncan even washes Ernie. x)Hes such a good boy and a lovely Guinea pig I am so lucky to have him.
