has anyone had a piggy live to an amazingly old age? because i got a 4 year old and a 5 month old (roughly) n wonderd how long they might live for (sorry for the randum question lol)

i rehomed a 9yr old sadly he died a few weeks later he didnt come into rescue he went from his home to my rodentologist where he lived for 8wks until he died of a heart attack x

the oldest mine have been have been 3 1/2 :0 ive been cheated, really hope i have these two for longer...i also lost my first piggy at 1 :0

My auntie had one that lived until she was 10. My oldest was Fuzz who was 7.

I roughly calculate that the first year of a piggys life is about equal to the first twenty of ours. From then each year is ten years so Fuzz would have been 80 in piggy years if my calculating is anywhere near right. I have not found anywhere else that tells you what they are in piggy years. I came up with this by looking at how long piggies could live for.

Does anyone else think that this is a reasonable way of calculating it? It means that the average life expectancy of 5-8 years means they would be 60-90 in piggy years.

I do that too!

My sister and I had a piggy (Twiggy) when i was young. He was 10 when he died.

I also rehomed a piggy (Jimmy) from a childrens farm who was 8 years old when I brought him home, and he lived another year with me.

But most of mine have lived 3-5 years.

wow i didnt realise they could last that long. i would love for my patch n nala to live upto 15 lol

We bought 3 babies in May 2004 (before our rescue days began!) Squirt lived to be almost 6 and Gidgit 6. Artoo is still going strong at almost 7. We adopted Blizzy from Windwhistle Warren in May 2010 and Alice told us she was 6 and a half, so she must also be 7 by now.
