after dinner veggies I give the piggies their pellets but I was busy cooking dinner tonight so my partner gave them their pellets but puts their dish in the wrong spot. Ten minutes later I'm alone in the kitchen and the piggies started to wheek at me loudly so when I went over to see if maybe they needed more hay I find a full container of pellets just sitting uneaten so I picked it up and said the magic word's "pellets babies pellets" and put it back down in the usual spot and they start to scoff them down. Does anyone else's piggies hate having their shedules changed.

Mine are pretty easy going and their food bowls change position when ever the cage layout changes. Chewie does have a 'spot' where she like to climb the bars and chew them when she's waiting for me to finish spot cleaning and give them veggies. This spot is half way between where I sit and the veg bowl on the floor. This week I put their extendable plastic tunnel over this spot. Chewie decides that trying to get on top of the tunnel is a better move than just standing in front of me!

Ginny doesn't seem to mind changes except for time; if I'm spot cleaning his cage at night and he hasn't got his food yet, he'll chatter and run (though not sure if I'd call it that lol, he's a bit of a slowpoke) all over the place

LOL! Some of my pigs have HATED anything different... I was stuck with a stupid, leaky water bottle for years because Linney would not drink from any other water bottle (I tried to wait her out once and she actually got dehydrated so I caved!) I tried to switch from paper bedding to fleece once and Sundae would not go in the cage at all, even though she had fleece blankets and it wasn't an unknown feel on her feet or anything like that. They also are time sensitive... they know when to expect hay, free time, treats, etc. and get a little worked up if their expectations are not met on time!

My two don't mind where their pellet bowl goes...but I scatter feed them veggies, so they're kind of used to their food being all over the floor. Time wise though, they're really stubborn about it. Put their dinner wherever you want!...just don't be late with it lol.

i have to admit,my piggies schedule for food can change ,due to working shifts,so my piggies are used to change, i mix different pellets monthly so none get too fixated on one pellet.run time is at a set time, all piggies seem ok with this.

Mine love being in their cage and were very unsure during their first few floor times. I recently put them in the shed into a hutch (due to moving their cage/table round and getting the room ready for a new cage). They sat very still and had no grass or water ... they were extra pleased to get back to their cage that day.

Spike and Peanut have to have their pellet bowl in the right place and sit waiting to be hand fed a pellet each before they will go to the bowl. I scatter the veg but they still have to be hand fed the first bit (I know it's my fault I spoilt them). When I clean out their cage they headbutt everything around 'til it's in the right position!
Willow and Bracken don't care how they are fed or where things are, easy come easy go, but they did have 4 homes (that I know of) in 3 or 4 months so not had time to develop habits.

Lol I hand feed my two their first piece too. They expect it now.

These two are very stuck in their ways about their pellets. Exactly half an hour after their veg (they get veg morning and evening) they will wheek for their pellets to let me know they would like their pellets now but it must be shared from the same bowl in the same place and if I put another bowl out at the other end of the cage so they can have their own bowl the other bowl just gets ignored like it tainted or something but when they are finished the first bowl and I put the ignored bowl in the sacred pellet eating space and say the magic words "pellets babies pellets" it's like a they are getting a fresh bowl of pellets and they get all excited then.

Yep, I can relate to this, but only two of my boys are the fusspots. I made the big mistake of rearranging everything to add a hay rack, which meant putting the pellets elsewhere. They ignored both! I was quick to notice this and swapped things back the way they were and they wolfed everything down with no problems, fussy ... :lol!:

My lot have always hated the hay rack and would never touch the hay that was in it. I thought it might be to high for them so I lowered it but they still would never use it. I bought a bright pink hay sack for them then and they would only eat the long strand timothy hay out of it. Now they have a bowl, they seem happy with that....for now.

Mine love it when I change their cage round every week. They run round exploring and popcorning. The one thing I must never change is their litter tray. I tried putting it at the opposite end once......poo and pee everywhere. It was only then that I realised how good they are at using the litter tray!
