It is just as well I cut Houdini's fringe when I did because ten minutes later I broke my left arm. Now, if I was doing something brave or cool when I broke it that would be fine. However it wasn't, I slipped on my pjamma pants that are too long as I'm on the short side, knocked over planks of wood while trying to get a grip on something, and then fell arm first onto the said planks of wood! Not cool at all, just makes me look like a total noob when people ask what happened. Doctor said it will take two to three months to heal. Next tuesday I was meant to start work as after all this time I've FINALLY found a job, and then start my film degree in July! So now I won't be able to work unless they really take pity on me and take on a one armed cashier, but operating a film camera...I haven't heard of anyone doing this with one arm...

At this point I'm not even sure how I'll manage showering, dressing myself, laundry, cooking or looking after the piggies! My family and my fiance and his family are more than happy to help me do things but it's not the same. I'm a strong, independant, confident, fashionable person and having to rely on others and wear a big ugly cast and sling makes me cry...
 
Lots of sympathy over the broken arm - really lousy timing! I hope it all gets better without too much fuss and bother.

I think you should make up an elaborate story to tell people when they ask how you did it!

But slipping on PJs is easily done, slipping on ANYTHING is easily done!

How long is your film course for? I think it will be worth going anyway if you can, even if you aren't able to do everything you had hoped to on the course. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to set the camera's up on a tripod and do panning shots etc. What kind of thing will you be doing? We did single camera filming at college, if it's a similar type of thing you'll still learn a lot. And besides, you wont be asked to carry the equipment about :))

Oh no that is so easily done, my pjs are too long too as am also on the short side. They aslo have lots of holes where one of my hamsters has pulled them into her ball while i am wearing them and I am forever getting my toes caught in the holes and going flying so I can sympathise. I hope your arms heals quickly and you can start your job and degree.

See finding ways around it and even accepting help whenever necessary as a new challenge - sometimes you simply have to, and sometimes you are the one that has to give help, so it evens out. It's what's makes us human and social beings.

Good thing that it only happened after the haircut; lovely pics of your boys!
