CobwebandPigpig

My mum visited me yesterday. She is not really an animal lover (she doesn't mind looking at them, but that's it), but I was feeling mischevious. I brought Pigpig out of the cage whilst she was sitting down and before she could protest plonked him on her lap. She squealed in disgust at first but gentle, quiet little Pigpig merely sat there, looking innocent and adorable. I then started a distracting conversation about something non-animal related and within 5 minutes she was stroking Pigpig and looked a lot more relaxed. Pigpig has an adoring 'granny' now! I wouldn't have tried this with the cranky Cobweb, it may well have ended up very differently!

Just thought I'd share. :)

AWWWWWWW. way to go Pigpig. O0 :smitten:

Bless, another converted then! Everytime I try that with my other half, he seems to get peed on. Hence why he's never too keen these days! ;D

who wouldnt melt just looking at him.... he's flippin' gorgeous! :D ;D
Awww.... bless little cobweb... At least you can have him all to yourself :smitten:

Hahaha, well, I think Cobweb would have peed on her at the very least! Bless him, he's such a mean piggie, he only really tolerates me.

Pigpig is very good and makes definite 'signs' that he needs to pee/poop so I felt quite safe!

Aw! Well Pigpig is very cute! I bet he's converted her.

My OH will pick them up but won't have them on his knee for any period of time as Tiger peed on him once! lol! And Jeremy bit him yesterday, poor bloke.

How is the Prince of Darkness? I love hearing what he's been up to!

Aww bless pigpig, a little charmer you have there....however cobweb sounds like a real character, the Basil Fawlty of guinea pigs! ;D

Aw well done Pigpig (I just love that name!) he sounds like a lovely placid boy, what a sweetheart! Glad to hear another person is now piggie friendly ;) How could anyone not love them?!

Go Pigpig! Hee hee you're not wrong about the power of pigs!

We took ours up to my parents a couple of weeks back. Wouldn't say they were animal lovers at all. But I caught my dad sneeking in bits of cut grass and cucumber in the morning before we'd all got up ::) ::)

I think they're piggy converts :smitten: :smitten:

Thanks, everyone! Teabag, my dad is like that - I asked him for a 'few' small twigs from his apple tree for the pigs and hamsters, and he arrived beaming, bearing a third of the tree, complete with apples! Lovely organic apples, leaves and twigs for the animals - they loved it!

Katie, the Prince of Darkness is the same as ever... currently he is making a point about disliking the bed I went to so much trouble to get/make for him, headbutting it around and refusing to sit in it! However, when he forgot I was there the other day (I was reading very quietly) he got up and sat in it for quite a while, until I moved. Then of course, he jumped immediately out of it and started scowling at me! And I'm his favourite person, too!

Here is a gallery of the many moods of Cobweb:

"Enraged"

angryhungry.jpg

"Angry, but also hungry"

aggressive.jpg

"Aggressive" (He'd just spied my OH, whom he despises for some unknown reason)

affronted.jpg

"Affronted" (I'd offended him by removing Pigpig from the scene, just as he was about to start a bullying session)

He's such a terror, but I wouldn't swap him for anything! :smitten:

hee hee he's brilliant! I love the way you describe his moods...with such resigned affection :smitten:

I do love him - he's my first ever guinea pig and will always have a special place in my heart :smitten:
