has anybody got this book? if so whats it like?

iv just been looking through the guinea pig products on amazon and bought it for 1p! its a hardback too pow-pow

its written by Peter Gurney, iv seen his name mentioned a few times, so it cant be all bad! ")

ps. hope everybody (and piggles) has a nice xmas!
 
Just remember alot of Peter Gurney information is out of date now, but the basics ared there.

Pigopedia is a good book, it was wrote by vets but the above comment applies to it. It's got lots of medical advice in it, but I would ignore anything it says in relation to housing.

I got that book when it came out i still have it but it is very out of date my copy is 18 years old:o

18 years old :o its nearly as old as me :))

never mind.... maybe i should have asked before i bought it :red

I like to have them just for reference I have one that's called piggy potions it goes for silly amounts of money on amazon, very basic book I have it just for the pictures :))!

:)) i do that too, see the pretty piggies and have to buy it!
 
Some bits may be out of date but Peter writes of many things about Piggies that will never change. I think that you will enjoy the book and learn a lot from him. Well done for getting it for a penny.
 
I think with a lot of the guinea pig books there are certain aspects that are out of date but they can still provide a lot of useful info and advice. I think with a combination of books and websites, you can get pretty comprehensive and up-to-date information regarding piggies.
