The purpose of hay racks...

Yes, whenever the hay rack has an open top a guinea pig will always try to climb in!
 
I made hay bags and my most curious piggie got herself inside it and slept there on day 1, other piggies followed on day 2 so had to make the holes smaller by sewing bars into it. Perhaps making a cover of some kind for your hay rack could do the trick. Piggies love to try to get inside anything within reach XD
