The ramp?

Wow! You’re piggies are lucky. Your ramp looks like it was so steep before! Mine is a lot less steeper actually, but I am going to stick a brick under like you have put something under :)
It was. The first time we bought this hutch for my first 2 piggies, we noticed that they had problems going down the ramp. No problems with going up, it was going down that scared them. Hubby asked his dad to make them wooden houses and we decided to put one under the ramp. That made them brave enough to run up and down, and it also made us stop worrying that they would get an accident running down.

That’s great, I do worry if they popcorn and fall down.

Hi! I spoke to them, and they agreed to add an extension on to the bottom. I really don’t know how long it would take to get the supplies because of covid. But anyone know what the minimum woulnd be for the extension? :)

Two boars need to be in a hutch of 180cm x 60cm.

I can add another 40cm and the hutch is already 60cm width wise. Thank you!

Excellent - the 40cm extension will make the hutch the right size for them, but if you have room to do any more than that then your piggies will appreciate it!
Just be sure to put some used bedding back in the hutch once the work is complete so they still recognise it at their space (you don’t want to inadvertently cause territorial problems between them)

Will do, thank you for you’re advice!

My 3 wouldn't use the ramp in my hutch, which has side wall built in, even when raised, until I put a cloth ramp tunnel on it. Now they do go up and down when they want to.
I may have to make one myself if they won’t go up and down. I’ll have to work it out. Does yours have a bottom on it? Thank you!

I'm not crafty at all, I bought mine (from CandE Cosies). It is a full circle in cotton or similar with a layer of something soft but more grippable on the bottom, and velcro tabs to attach it to the ramp.

I’m sure i can work things out 😅 thank you!

Hi everyone! I put a brick under the ramp and lurred Berty with some peppers. He kept going back up, but he slowly kept coming further. I just found him on the bottom floor :D It may take some time for Teddy because he is more shy whereas Berty is more adventurous. But hopefully he follows Berty at some point! Thank you!
