Project 'Sideboard'

Always thinking ahead and making, changing and tweeking around with my C&C cages to accomadate my own Guinea Pigs plus the Rescue piggies I foster.
I come up with project 'SideBoard.

A 1960s creation that was already in the big gargage I have at the top of the garden when I moved in this house over 10 years ago.

So this weekend we modified her, and I think she fits in OK.
She is not very wide (about 1 & 1/2ft), but she is 5ft long and has 2 levels, and should make a rescue piggie comfy whilst looking for his forever home.

As you can see from this photo of my piggie/computer room the other cages

Tyko's cage is the nearest with the blue tent, I made it high because then he can have company from 'Salt' my own piggie, through the bars while he is here.
My dog Cleo has found her spot under his cage too. :)

What stunning bit of recycling!

drooldrooldrool I wish I had a dedicated piggy/computer room like that!

Great idea!

I love that green spotty fleece too. Where did you get it from please? (if you don't mind me asking!)

What a fabulous invention the side board cage love it! Your piggies are so lucky having all that space! x

I've had to compromise a lot for this room, its more like a through room to the kitchen, once upon a time a dinning room table lived here but thats been squeezed into the room.

My OH would like to make this more of a play room for my children as the front room always looks cluttered, infact he told me again this morning that the sideboard cage was yet MORE piggie stuff!
But we can live in one room and the piggies can live in the other. :)

It all looks very neat and tidy, clever way of breathing new life into something old. It must be nice to be on the computer and have those quiet gentle creatures around you.
I sometimes wish mine could be indoors, I could watch them more often then.My husband always says 'when I'm gone you can have as many as you want', so I'm lucky that I've got two outside! I hate hearing him say that, he's 19 years older than me.

Ooooh how clever are you! I love your set up, and wow to your piggy room, i think i've seen it before but i always find it amazing every time! :))

what a great idea, looks brill! I'm gonna be on the look out for unwanted sideboards/random furniture to convert now....:))

I think I shall mark your GP room again, as well as the sideboard cage, because it is all re-markable!!

Thank you ever so much for the sideboard pictures, that will work out well here if I ever get the opportunity, as there are occasionally old television/stereo consoles for free here (ppl burn the wood or take them to the dump) that are about the same size. I love the way it all looks.

wow i love these guinea pig homes, if only i could persuade the o/h to make a cage this big, my babies would love it :) :)):)):))

I love it what a creative and fabulous idea! :)
