Dear fellow Guinea pigs,
It all started last night, we had veggies early then pellets, don't the hoomans know its supposed to be pellets then veggies(well thats how we like it!). Then they disappeared, and didn't come back till bedtime.

We are starting to wonder whats going on…. the hoomans also keep discussing builders and day trips.

We don’t really know what builders do, but it sounds like they will be noisy. Mummy slave says it will be too noisy for us, we will be going to work with her and come home each day when she does, as the nice holiday lady has no space for us.
We are not sure what work is, and neither are we sure we want to go too work, as that's when we like to nap when everyone is out, and spend time rearranging our home.
Then this morning we spotted our outside area inside the big house, with all our tunnels and spare houses in. Its been put away now before we even got to explore and play in it, which was disappointing.

Has anyone been to work, do you think we should be worried? We cant decide how to tell the huumans we like our routines, and don't fancy an adventure on Monday, whenever that it.

From Hector and Hamish

P.S Mummy slave keeps saying “and a cats moved in next door!” Hmmmmm….. not sure we like the sound of that.

Dear Hector and Hamish,

You have to be careful because it’s a slippery slope. Once slave said ‘come on, time to go.’ We did give her the run around, especially the girls. But anyway, we went in a big thing that vrooms and plays music…nice music though, it’s the type we’re used to. I digress. We felt the breeze on our faces when she hauled us out the car. There were some strange smells around there. I (Fudge) have to say I didn’t like them.

So anyway, she handed us to a STRANGER, said bye and mentioned how much she would miss us. She was gone for months! We weren’t amused but we just tolerated it. We were happy to be home in our well scented space.

I don’t know what work is though I’ve heard slave mum mention it every so often…in a voice that’s stressed 🤷🏾‍♀️ We hope you can still nap when you ‘go to work’.

Lots of squeaks,

Hector and Hamish get some ear plugs 😄 if your slave can’t supply you with some then ask to be moved to a nice quiet spot away from these noisy strangers

Dear Hamish and Hector,
I can assure you that going to work is no bad thing at all. Me and my former cage mate Mabel went into work with our Big Slave several times. Usually when we needed eye drops or syringe feeding, but sometimes just because she felt the need to “keep an eye” on us. We really quite enjoyed the experience. We found that hiding in the hay and looking cute, or making the occasional rather polite wheek usually resulted in the Big Slave’s work herd giving us bits from their lunchtime salad, or sneaking us treats from our packed lunch box when the Big Slave wasn’t looking. We even had a dedicated area in one of the offices so that the Big Slave’s boss’s daughter decorated with labels. And we had a day named after us. It was called “Bring your pig(s) to work day”. So please don’t worry. I’m sure you will be able to wangle extra coriander or blueberries as a reward for this upheaval.
Lots of love,
Holly x

Dear ToFudge, Chanelu Paneli and Namunene,
Thank you for your message, we have become aware that the blue box we are helped into does sometimes take us to lovely places like the grass outside, and other times we travel in the big vrooom thing. Sometimes we arrive at a new exciting place, other times we arrive at a place we don’t like, and strange people poke and look at us, with serious faces.
We are hoping that work means a fun place, but its still worrying. We will let you know after Monday, whenever that is!
Yours weeeeeekingly,
H&H

Dear Holly,
Thank you for your reassuring message. We hope there is lots of fun hay to play in.
We have never tried a blueberry, and failed to gain lunch time salad today despite doing our best “I am starving” look.

Dear Hector and Hamish,

We think that going to “work” with your slave sounds like a fabulous idea. They will be at your beck and call ALL DAY. If they have to talk to someone who looks important just wheek as loud as you both can and I’m sure your slave will throw in some nummies to keep you both quiet. Result!

Dear Hector and hamish,
We have never been to this place called work but we did get pig napped to go to some place called school with the small slaves, except school looked suspiciously like their bedroom, something about a hooman virus or something that meant these pesky hoomans were around all day every day! Suddenly there was a herd of small hoomans and a couple of big ones too saying how cute and amazing we are and asking all kinds of questions! I mean really do they not know that the most important thing is food, food and oh more food! Anyway these small slaves were on some kind of screen! Rather a strange contraption if you ask us! The extra attention and compliments was rather nice but we would've preferred extra treats! If this work thingy has even more people to tell you how amazing you are then we think it sounds like a grand idea! Especially if sneaking extra treats is involved, we didn't get none of that through the strange screen contraption!

Dear Hector and Hampshire ,
We have always lived where our slave goes to work.
And lately our Daddy Slave has started going to work here as well.
It’s very good because the slaves are there all the time to pander to our needs.
Our slave stops to talk to us and pet us. We can usually wangle and extra snack from one of them.
If you are very clever you can make sure that the hay is spread all over the workplace.
We like living where our slave goes to work and we hope you enjoy it too.

Dear Percy and Pepper,
Thank you for your advice. We have been practising wheeking at unusual times, yesterday we only got extra hay. We are still hoping for some mythical lino, or any of those other things from your list, last time we got on the computer.

Dear Nugget, Marshmallow, Mal, Flower and Caramel,

Wow, 5 of you live together? There are just the 2 of us here!
We don’t like the strange screen contraptions, and we brummmp, whenever we hear them talking, or it does the brrrring noise same as the other thingy the slaves talk into sometimes. Lets hope none there are none of those.
We suspect small hoomans may be involved though, from what we hear when our hoomans get back from “work”, and are a little concerned we wont get our quiet naps.

Dear Priscilla, Phoebe and Micah,
I wonder who was typing? Its tricky sometimes isn’t it, did you have a slip?
I am not sure who Hampshire is, but we understand this thing keeps giving us words we haven't asked for!
Our Daddy slave often goes to work….. without going out, we like it when he is here, he is good at sneaking us treats.
Mummy slave always disappears to work and we don't see her until after, so we are hoping these builders who everyone keeps talking about don’t come , and we can stay home. (Which is what happened this last week!)
We will let you know what happens.
Love Hector and Hamish.

Dear Hector and Hamish

A few months ago Mummy Slave had someone called "a roofer" in to replace the roof on our garage. It made a lot of noise and we were really scared. We were pleased that we were nice and safe in the our hutch home for the couple of days it took. Mummy Slave said that she couldn't put us out in our run in the garage or our run outside as the nice roofer man needed the space outside and we would feel safer in our hutch. We didn't think that the roofer man was nice. He made lots of scary noises. You will be a lot better off going to work with your Hooman. Let us know what it's like. We have never been to work. We have only ever been to the person who pokes and prods at us and gives us medicine or to see Aunty Lucy when Mummy Slave goes on holiday.

Hello everyone!

Just a little update, we enjoyed our day at “work”.
We didn’t know what to expect, but we found our outside place all set up with cosy fleece in a little building with no-one else in it. It was exciting to find our carrot cottage which we had lost. We have had a super day napping, and munching hay as normal, also got a visit from Mummy slave at lunchtime and a cheeky bit of cucumber.
The place we were in was even playing our usual music.
We did hear some strange small hooomans during the day, but they didn't bother us luckily, they are super loud though!
With wheeeks and squeeks,
from Hector and Hamish.

That’s brilliant that you liked “work”. Lots of people don’t. Do you have to go in all week? Glad you found your carrot cottage and there was plenty of hay to sneak up on. 😍

Dear Hamish and Hector,
We are glad you enjoyed your day at work.
We hope that if you have to go in all week there will be lots of sneaky bits of cucumber.

Toasty and Marshmallow don't know about the glitter ball, but they say that it looks like you are having a very good game of hide and seek there. Hiding in the hay is the best, because you can always have a snack while you are waiting to be found :D
