The stage is set.....

I don't know how old Meg is, but my plan B would be to bond Meg with a (young) neutered boar who could go on to live with your other girls in the long run.
But of course we all know that piggies like nothing better than to laugh at our plans. :eek:
 
Meg is 6 on 5th May. Good idea but I don't think she'd accept another boar after she lost her brother Silver Fox Christian. She is a girl who may be a shy little thing by she is very feisty and knows her own mind.
 
I have had two girls once who fought off every other piggy that crossed their way. When one of them died, I was determined not to bond the other one with a boar. I was pretty sure that she wouldn't live with a boar since she has always lived with her sister. She was about 4.5-5 years at the time.
Tried to bond her with one of my girls living in my other group. The only one she was interested in was the boar of this group. But that was no option.
When I talked to a lady who ran a small rescue she offered a boar, a black teddy mix. The girl was a white smooth haired piggy, like her sister.
I was sure, it wouldn't work. But I took the girl to the rescue to meet the boar. She was livid.
I was sure, it wouldn't work, but I was persuaded to take the boar home and give it a second try.
Set up a bonding enclosure, put them both on. He had a go at her. And then everything was okay.

You just never can take anything for granted when it comes to these little devils.
I can understand that you're reluctant to bond Meg with a boar. But in my experience it is the safest bet in a lot of cases.
If your two young ladies are willing to accept the lad later one ... should work, but you never know for sure.
The biggest problem would be to find a suitable boar. You would need a real charmer.
(That's what I was looking for after Muffin died - and we got Odi. Someone had a good laugh at us.)
 
It might be worth trying Meg with an older neutered boar. My older girls (who had never lived with a boar) accepted a placid 3 year old boar. I know that Marias Animal Shelter is a long way from you but they currently have a shy 4 year old neutered boy called Gizmo looking for a home. :)
 
I am so sorry that your ladies didn’t want to play nicely. I’ve had more than my fair share of failed sow bondings. Silly girls, living together would have been the best option for them all. But hey, they certainly know their own minds.
