When I first discovered this forum back in March I had just rejoined the world of guinea pig ownership, after a long hiatus.
Our 3 little piggies were going to live outside (all my previous pigs did) and we bought a very fine outdoor hutch and run for them.
But they came home a little earlier than planned (think 3 months earlier), so we had to keep them inside temporarily.
They started their life with us in this outdoor hutch, proudly taking up half of the living room temporarily.
And then we all fell wildly in love with these funny little creatures, and it became fairly clear that they were never going to live outside full time.
And of course it was at this point that the problems with having indoor pigs in an outdoor hutch became glaringly obvious.
And because of the wonderful and creative souls on this forum, it became clear that a C&C was the way to go for indoor piggies.
You cages all looked so beautiful, and I duly ordered a 5 x 2 C&C after being inspired and encouraged by all of you.
It arrived and we put it together (a fairly traumatic experience involving 5 kids - most of them not actually mine - and 3 languages). It looked huge and just as wonderful as I had hoped.
I am not joking when I say parents from our street were dragged in to marvel at the wonder (or craziness) that was our family and their new guinea pig palace.
We loved it,the pigs loved it, the neighbours probably talked about us over dinner, and all was well.
But then suddenly our amazing C&C started to look 'less big'.
Not small exactly, but there is just something about having a box of unused grids in the cupboard that is 'unsettling'.
Suddenly the threads and cage pictures on here seemed less 'helpful' and more 'suggestive'.
So today the C&C grew a little....
We are now officially out of grids, although I do have a friend driving back to the UK in a month who asked if we needed anything.

Love your cage.
