We all know piggies have big fluffy coats on, and those coats don't have zips! So are there any great summer tips out there?

First I'd like to add my tip;

Take a small water bottle and fill with water (leave room for ice to expand). Put it in the freezer until the water has turned to solid ice, then take out and wrap in an old dish-cloth or tea towel. Place in cage and voila! Instant piggy cooler!

Be warned the old cloth could be covered in hay, wood shavings, piggy fluff, poop and pee.

So guys, care to add more heat hints?... :cool:

We have got an information thread with a collection of tips from all around the world at the top of our Daily Care section. https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/hot-weather-management-and-heat-strokes.105317/

If you are using mobile fans, please place them just inside an open window so they encourage the air flow into the hot room and don't just push hot air indoors air around; make sure that they can't fall over and break. Rough porous water filled terracotta jars or damp towels both cool down the surrounding air by evaporating water.
