I took my Guinea Pig to the vet because he keep licking and biting at his skin and he wasnt hiself and the vet said he was just lacking vitimain c and he got his nails clipped and his temperature and hear beat checked and he is very healthy and he has a normal heartbeat He was a great boy ! He gets fed veg or fruit three times a day and he gt new nuggets with better vitimain c at pets at home i notice he is far happier now so glad !x)

Vitamin C is very important to guinea pigs so the changes to his diet sound great. Hopefully he stays healthy and happy!

If he keeps biting his skin and/or scratching then he could perhaps have mites or a different type of skin problem, so that's worth bearing in mind.

There's lots of advice and helpful people around here. You'll see that the forum is split into sections for specific subjects. The other parts of the forum tend to be busier than this particular section, so you might want to join in there. Maybe post a photo in the "Your Stories & Photos" section as everyone always loves seeing piggy pictures!

I get vitamin c from the hay experts. I crush it and put it on a slice of cucumber for my girls. You may like to try that too.
