Meanwhile, he’s completely unperturbed and tucking into his greens grown and freshly picked from the garden.

An Average Wheaky Beans Sunday

Pop piggies in tent for play date
Distract with pepper and lettuce
Munch, munch, munch
Brrr brrr
Start humping each other
Distract with fresh dandelions
Munch, munch, munch

Start humping each other
Show signs of hostility
Chatter chatter
Quickly whisk them into separate clean cages
They are now content, napping after all that excitement.
Pea brains!
 
Does anyone know what a slight white coating on guinea pig feet means? I’ve noticed Aperol’s feet aren’t as clean and shiny looking as Espresso’s!

That’s good to know thanks. Aperol has been prescribed this so hopefully it works (and on Espresso as she’s starting scratching more too!).
 
The Wheaky Beans had their ivermectin on Friday and I’m following this forum’s advice to do the first deep clean today to remove any dead and dying mites.

I assume I’ll be required to wash all their bedding at 60C…Will I also need to throw away their new carrot cottages? On the plus side, it’s a beautiful day to have the piggies play time outside today where they are most harmonious together!

It’s not been my week, I was giving Espresso a bum cut and she moved and I’ve nicked her bits slightly 😢 I’ve cleaned it with salt solution and going to keep a close eye on it and her and see a vet tomorrow if necessary.

I feel so bad but like you said easily done. My head has been all over the place this week after receiving sad family news and dealing with an infected wisdom tooth on top of the mites infestation. I’m hoping it’ll heal quickly and she’ll be fine.

What a rollercoaster of emotions you’ve had this week.
So sorry for the sad family news.
An infected wisdom tooth is so painful - I still remember the pain after many years.
A little nick isn’t an issue but you’re doing exactly the right thing with it.

Thank you 🥰 I’m actually amazed at guinea pig’s abilities to heal from wee cuts in the skin. It’s almost fully healed in less than 24 hours although of course, I’m going to monitor it closely to make sure she’s OK. She was running towards me for her nuggets this morning so doesn’t seem to bother her in the slightest!
 
Up extra early this morning to air out the Wheaky Beans room as it got up to 25C in there yesterday despite all windows and curtains shut, 26C outside. The French doors let in a lot of heat so my hubby has found an old blind and it fixed it in front of the doors outside to hopefully stop the sun beating down on our south facing door! Hopefully it works as it’s another scorcher ahead (I appreciate it’s not as bad as places down south but concerning for every piggy owner regardless).
