Is it norovirus? I got that when I was 16 (5 and a half years ago now) and it was awful. My mum said after 48hours of me constantly being sick I began screaming for someone to end my life - I was in so much pain. Instead of the usual 48-72 hours that it lasts, after the initial bout, I was being sick around 8-10 times per day for 2 years. It was horrendous. I lost a lot of weight and was seriously unwell. I couldn't keep any food or liquid down.
The doctors still aren't sure why I responded in the way I did.
Once that stopped, we hoped that would be the end of it, but it destroyed my gut and my immune system and left me with Myalgic Encephalopathy (post-viral, which means it was caused by the virus).
Because of the nightmare, and the fact it has left me with a lifelong and deteriorating condition, I'm now really paranoid if anyone, public or family, get ill.
You know, my cousin had a baby 12months ago and I still haven't met him for fear of germs because he attends nursery.
I'm now registered disabled and my partner is my full-time carer. ME is a varying condition, so some days I can get about using my walking stick (though I'm always in pain) and some days I can't even chew or swallow food, I'm so exhausted and in so much pain. M.E. has many hidden symptoms too, such as Cognitive Impairment - some days I can't speak simple sentences or understand what people are saying to me.
There's actually a film coming out about M.E. which will hopefully raise awareness about the condition -
