Yesterday, I brought home my first guinea pigs! Theo is a seven week old Teddy, and Oscar is a six week old Swiss Teddy. They are living in a 6ft by 2ft two-tier hutch in the garden. They are, unsurprisingly, very shy and skittish, so I’m giving them plenty of time to quietly explore their surroundings, but I’m pleased to see that they’re both eating really well, and both have had a sniff of my hand. At the moment, Oscar seems the most daring and inquisitive of the two. I’m looking forward to getting to know them, and to - fingers crossed - gaining their trust over the coming weeks.8E045708-A475-41EC-8F5D-D082C3FCB6EA.jpeg

They both look gorgeous!

I love teddies - they are just so cute.
Your boys are gorgeous.
Looking forward to lots more pictures.
Congratulations on the new arrivals

If you attach a piece of carpet to the ramp with some waterproof double sided tape (I got some off of ebay) and let them run over it in the bottom of the hutch to scent mark it you will find that your Piggies are more willing to use it.
Thank you for that suggestion, that’s a great idea and I’ll definitely try it. The ramp is just a place for them to hide under at the moment.

Ohhhh, they are so cute 😍 what little munchkins!

I’m now six weeks into my piggy journey and my tiny babies have changed so much! They are now 12 weeks old and weigh 520g and 560g. They absolutely love their food and ‘wheel’ very loudly and excitedly when there’s any sign of something edible arriving! They were unwilling to use the ramp in their hutch until it was carpeted - since then, they spend their days literally flying up and down it with lots of added popcorning! They are a pair of live wires, and real sweethearts, and I wouldn’t be without them now! 🐾❤️🐾❤️

I spy a piggy in the middle photo with a look of, "uh, the food bowl's empty" :))

they are so cute! If you have youtube I highly recommend watching little adventures for tips! also what a big hutch they will be so happy to grow up in there!

So handsome! Are they indoor or outdoor piggies? Be careful as it’s a bit too chilly for them to be out now.

PS I have that bowl except in orange 😁 I smashed one the other day though! Luckily they don’t use them anymore.
