Theo's love life has a technical problem...

Blodwen is in season today and very receptive to Theo's advances... but the poor boy seems to be having some technical difficulties due to her long luxurious lilac bottom fur! Is this just Theo being a bit daft or do other husboars struggle with performing the act of love with long haired piggy ladies? He keeps trying, but then looking quite confused... there's just a long lilac furry skirt in the way... not easy being a husboar!
 
Poor Theo has given up and gone to eat hay on his own... Boss lady Clover humped Blodwen instead, up and down the cage for ages, which they both seemed to enjoy because now they are cuddled up grooming each other's faces and sharing lunch :)
Theo sounds to be muttering something about feminist lesbian types who won't give a chap a chance, but not too loudly or Clover will hump him next- she's the big pig boss lady and he's always a bit scared she'll sit on him!
 
So by now Blod's hormones and pheromones are causing absolute chaos! Blod herself is such a friendly piggy she's had no mood changes at all except being very receptive to anybody who wants to climb on top of her! Theo and Clover are getting into quite heated vocal arguments about her with a lot of rumbling and posturing. Jezzy is alarm squeaking because she doesnt like any hint of sex and violence at all, and there's a 3-way wrestling match going on by her favorite hay tray! Piggle likes a good soap opera so she's encouraging everyone into bad behaviour by chasing anypig she sees up and down the cage and popcorning and wheeking wildly... Puggle is I think just a bit embarassed that Theo is making a fool of himself and is pulling his ears and chuckle-nagging... its very lively and noisy in the piggy room!

The antics of the PigglePuggle herd do make me laugh :)) But I'm afraid I can't help with Theo's 'technical problem', as I've only ever had short-haired piggies. And anyway, Squeaks' 2 ladies (Winifred and Rosemary) seem to be like two bossy old maids and I've only ever once seen him trying to get amorous with them - unless they are just shy and wait for me to be elsewhere before indulging their natural urges ....

I keep Betsy's hair nice and trim around her rear end. Usually a very fashionable wedge cut every 6-8 weeks or so then it doesn't get all tangled up with wee and hay and boar glue. As it's winter I haven't been doing this - just a quick trim when it's too bad. There has been a lot of tangled up and sticky boar glue to cut out :vom: so it looks like my boys aren't having trouble. Does Theo need lessons?
 
I never considered giving her a haircut before because she spends lots of time grooming herself and she's young enough and slim enough to keep her bottom fur very clean, she has such lovely long smooth shiny lilac fur at the back... but Theo would probably appreciate it, some of her lilac skirt fur is 4 or 5 inches long and clearly causing romantic issues :)
 
Betsy's skirt was that long when she was younger and I hated cutting off her beautiful skirt but it was getting so tangled. She didn't know it had gone she just knew she felt more comfortable and therefore she was happier. If you need a cutting guide search for Cavy Coiffure but make sure you read Part 1 first. I wrote it a while ago. You may find it quite informative. You may also find it rather amusing.
 
My late Peter never quite knew what to do with himself either and I didn't have any long haired piggies at that point. One morning while eating for breakfast Bumble was more than happy for him to climb on until he climbed on to her face! :))
 
Maybe a haircut is in order tomorrow after the cage clean then vet nurse appointment for nail trims :) I'd also best get piggy daddy to check Theo's boy bits for Blodwen fur entanglements... that's a guy thing I think, piggy daddy can do the honours!

You may have no choice if it gets covered in boar glue :D
 
Theo is very cross today, he thought he was going in the playpen but actually piggy daddy cruelly tricked him and he went to see the vet nurse to get his nails trimmed and also so piggy daddy could ask for a proper demonstration of how to clean Theo's boy bits. Theo got turned upside and his tummy pressed and lots of Blodwen fur and hay cleaned off his little willy! He was so outraged he bit piggy daddy hard enough to draw blood. Interfering with his boy bits on a sunday morning while he should be rumbling around the playpen! And the vet nurse has her own piggies and smelled of rival boars, he is very upset and demanding compensation in the form of spinach and watercress salad...
