Hey guys the new piggie hutch arrived they have never had a two storey hutch s its all new to them,

I have a guestion though they wont use the ramp is it because they dont know what its for and will they get used to it and eventually use it?

has the ramp got sides and is the ramp got a non slip surface?

well the ramp has like little nlocks on it to help them go up and down i have put them in the top so that they have the house to cuddle up in if they get cold, so I'm hoping they will figure out that they can go down the ramp?

You can get fab padded ramp covers if they just wont take to it,so they have a little covered tunnel to go down.

Ooh, where from? They sound fab. I glued balsa wood sides on to mine and laid fleece over it but these sound much better :(|)

I got some fabric tunnels custom made to fit my ramps by Sarah from Chucklebunnies who is on here, then I used velcro to hold them on. Rosie still won't use the ramp without a tunnel but the younger guineas trampled the ramp in their hutch and walked over it so I just replaced it with a bit of fleece to keep them from slipping.

My lads charge up and down the ramp which is covered in the same roofing felt that is on the roof, so they have a good grip. I have added carpet to a ramp as well to help pigs go up it. The longest it has ever taken for any of mine to learn to use the ramp is only about a week, so they should be ok. xx
